I got to see Weird Al in concert!

Like I posted on facebook, it was one of those concerts where you have a huge grin on your face the entire time and sing along to all your favorite songs.

I came to visit my folks for my father's birthday (which is tomorrow). I had no idea they were going to surprise me with tickets to see Weird Al. While I haven't really listened to any of his stuff in a long time, and don't even have his newest album. I still enjoyed the hell out of the concert.

And silly me for thinking Weird Al would put on a subpar show just because the venue happened to be the City Fair. He went all out, I don't think I've ever seen so many costume changes in one show :D

Congrats. I don't care how long he's been around, it would still be great to see him live.

UHF is still one of my favorite "cheesy" movies.

I felt like I felt when I first really got into his music some fifteen years ago. It was such a great experience, much better than the last concert (Metallica) I went to. But that had more to do with them not playing what I wanted to hear than anything else.

Weird Al gives his all every show. Probably as good of a live show as there is.

I haven't been to an Al concert, but watching some live performences on Youtube, it sure looks like a great time. Does he still rock the Accordian, especially on "Yoda"?

His videos are so wonderful, and I've heard great things about his live work. Don't really enjoy his newer songs as much, but there's no doubt he always gives his all

I saw him back in 1986 (yes, 1986) and it was a great concert, still one of the most memorable ones that I've ever attended.

I was impressed at how tight his band was; I've seen 'serious' bands with much less musical talent than his band. There were a lot of costume changes, but the flow of the show was so smooth it wasn't a distraction at all.

The costume changes weren't bad at all. Since he breaks it up with video clips from his movie, Al TV, and various other forms of media that reference him.

I saw him a few years ago in Toronto, and the show was awesome then, too. My girlfriend and I both totally freaked out when he did "Albuquerque" as an encore, too.

Never seen him in concert, but I'd love to. I hear he puts on a great concert, but I don't think he's played here in quite some time. I remember fondly during the days I'd actually watch MuchMusic when it was worth watching, and he'd be doing road reports from wherever he was doing his concerts at, like this one:

He's always a great show. As I get older and crotchety-er though, I don't always get what he's parodying because I don't keep up with modern music much. I enjoy his style parodies much more these days (Craigslist, CNR).

I'm the same way! I'm not too up on whats popular nowadays so his newer songs go over my head (as far as what they're supposed to be parodying).

^Same here.

I still tend to enjoy his parodies on their own merits though. He's got skill when it comes to creating them. That's for sure.

I just bought tickets to see him on November 9th at the Grand Sierra Resort, even the teenager wants to go! Can't wait for the show.

Weird Al truly is an entertainer that people of all ages can enjoy.

I don't recall the last time I went with my folks (both in there sixties) to an entertainment show of any kind with them able to enjoy it as much as I was.

I do it all the time. I went to see Melissa Etheridge with my Dad of over 60 and we both really enjoyed it. It does greatly depend on the performer though.

Definitely. I love his music. Just got another copy of 'Bad Hair Day' (on my i-pod) since I played my tape of it so much that it doesn't work anymore :).

I wish I could see him in concert sometime, since his music never gets old.
