Justified S1 (no S2 spoilers please!)

Temis the Vorta

Fleet Admiral
Admiral
Wow, how did I miss this fantastic show the first time around? Just saw S1. It's right up there with the best shows on TV - Breaking Bad, Sons of Anarchy, The Walking Dead.

FX is pretty much on par now with AMC in my estimation. (FX also has Archer, funniest show on TV).

So now I have to waaaaait for the S2 DVDs, unless FX wants to be nice and rerun S2 before the series comes back this winter. So no S2 spoilers, please. ;)

But mainly I just wanted an excuse to post this video. I don't care who else is in the running, Walton Goggins deserves that Emmy!

Glad you enjoyed it. And I don't think Season 1 holds a candle to Season 2., so that's something great to look forward to. ;)

The cover (Timothy Olyphant) was not a deterrent, I assure you. :D I think I just had too many new shows to watch at that point, and it fell through the cracks.

Isn't Justified a cop show? I thought you hated this genre, Temis? :rommie:

I haven't seen the show for that reason...

I hate most cop shows, but will always make exceptions for the exceptional. ;)

After all, some of my favorite shows are just cop shows with the POV flipped around. Breaking Bad, Dexter, Sons of Anarchy. I can't hate everything no matter how hard I try.

The first season has a few "procedural" episodes in that they don't relate to the main plot (ie, the Crowder drama). Even those are very good examples of the type. I have a feeling S2 gets away from any procedural elements and is aimed more at Raylan vs. The Hillbillies.

The second season definitely is more serialized, but I like S1:s standalones too, like the ones with Alan Ruck and Bob Picardo.

But in season 2...
Margo Martindale will creep you out

Oh no, don't you tempt me with spoilers! :rommie:

Turns out Raylan is a Star Wars fan...\\[yt]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wVT0B3pPsa8[/yt]

I wouldn't really call it a spoiler. It's not information you haven't already seen in this thread.

Took me awhile to find Justified too. It is easily my favorite show now, I just wish we could get more than 13 episodes a season. It's a long time between seasons.

The only thing that bugs me on the show is that they're ability to make california look like Kentucky is slipping.

OK I read the "spoiler." :D Hmm, I've seen many creepy characters in my time. Can Mags hold her own with T-Bag, Gus Fring and the Trinity Killer?

And the California locations are a continual annoyance. The oaky-looking hillsides where Boyd had his Holy Roller encampment look very Californian to my eye. I'm not entirely sure what Kentucky forests look like, but they're probably different.

This show really should hire Robert Knepper as a recurring character. It would be even more fun if he doesn't play a psycho hillbilly like we all expect.

Margo Martindale did INDEED win the Emmy for Best Supporting Actress in a Drama Series. Watch season 2 and you'll see why.

That woman is all kinds of intimidating awesomeness.

Yes! That was a great episode.

But one great episode isn't enough to make me watch a series that otherwise is pretty meh. Jimmi Simpson is being wasted on that show.
