Favorite Flavour of ice cream ?

I had some blue and white ice cream recently that was very nice, no idea what flavour it was supposed to be though, I just picked it cos it was purty!

The older I get, the more I just go for vanilla. Simple. Unadorned. Inherently perfect. If an ice cream maker can't make a good vanilla, I won't bother moving on to other flavors.

Coffee used to be my go to.

I like them all except lemon, mint, & chocolate.

I can't stand mint either. Blech!

Have i told you lately how much i love you?

Stracciatella and gianduja.

I guess you are unlikely to find them in your neighbourhood.

Carte d'Or do a very mediocre Stracciatella that's not really worthy of the name, but I'm fairly certain I've had a reasonable Gianduja from Haagen-Dazs. Sure, it's not a genuine gelato, so there's a textural difference, but it's actually good nonetheless.

I like Tesco's Finest Devon Toffee & Fudge ice cream, plus the entire Tesco Finest ice creams range seems to be on permanent 2 1L tubs for £5, which is an amazing bargain. Their vanilla is pretty damn good too.

Good lord man, is there anything you don't know?? :bolian:

When going to Carvels i love a hot fudge sundae with vanilla ice cream.

But if it's just ice cream, cawfee. What else?

Hey, ice cream's important.

I miss Carvel. We had one in my town and it was the cat's ass. Went there after every little league game, as well as many other times.

Mad props to Fudgey the Whale.

The only place we have in my town now is some shlocky joint staffed by fat ex-hippies.

Hey, ice cream's important.

Indeed it is. In my case it's also medicinal. No lie. I use it to treat bad cases of stomach acid. Works every time. Of course, it has to be plain vanilla. Chocolate and other flavors don't work as well.

In fact, when I told my doctor I was doing that, he thought he could prescribe it for me to keep costs down (He already has me on meds for it), but when he presented the case to my insurance company, he told me that they literally laughed and hung up on him.

I like your doc's attitude a lot. :D

If they had ended up approving it, I wonder if they'd have permitted brand-name prescribing, or insisted you ate a generic walmart alternative...

Heh, knowing my insurance company, they would have insisted I go with the Walmart alternative.

Ironically, I get my ice cream (among other groceries) from Walmart most of the time anyhow.

Favorite Ice Cream flavor?

Personally I like Ben & Jerry's Cherry Garcia, and we have a local shop that makes it's own unique creations, which are all good to varying degrees, but I'm intrigued by this new flavor. The empty container will no doubt sit on my desk at work holding pens:

Get ready for two scoops of "Schweddy Balls."

Yes, the most famous culinary conversation from the sketch show's NPR sendup, "Delicious Dish," is finally available in ice cream form.

Named after Alec Baldwin's Pete Schweddy, the proprietor of a seasonal confections shop, these "Balls" are made of rum and milk chocolate malt, covered in fudge, and swimming in a pint of Fair Trade vanilla.
