Madame Vastra spinoff?

Well Moffat thinks it'd be great, he just doesn't have time to do it ;)

Interesting that he suggests we might see them again at least...

We can probably blame Sherlock for that, I'm afraid.

Of course RTD created Torchwood and Sarah Jane Adventures but left it in the hands of others to write them.

I fully expect we'll see Vastra and Jenny in the second half of the season. As for a spin-off, I think it would work, though they'd need very strong stories because the novelty would wear off eventually. Probably the biggest obstacle would be whether Neve McIntosh would be willing to put up with the makeup day in and day out. That said, they could do something sneaky that have Vastra obtain a shimmer suit like that seen in The End of Time so that most of the time she looks like, well, Neve McIntosh. Which would not be a bad thing at all!

Of course, if Moffat doesn't have time for a separate series, there's also that other option: Karen Gillan and Arthur Darvill won't stay with the show forever, and Vastra and Jenny are ready-made to travel with the Doctor.

I dunno, I don't think theres really enough there to support an entire series. Another guest appearance on Who, and a stand alone special or two? Yes please.

Hmmm, or combine the two should there be a need for another 'Doctor Lite' story.

Oh, and those who are constantly fretting about the shows future on the BBC might take note on how quickly the Controller said 'yes!' when Moffat pitched the idea to him.

What it would make is a good book, I reckon.

Which, again, I'd do for £2.50 and a bag of crisps...

I think it would be expensie to do as a TV series, considering the neiche market that its going to be its viewers.

First off its set in Victorian times, that is going to add cost to the production, as you will need plenty of set dressing, second the lead character is a green skinned lizard, whilst true the development of her look has already been done, its going to cost extra to film the lead in constant make-up. (hence why Time Lords appear human)

Also people are going to object the two leads are a lesbian couple, that is always going to draw compliants, and the main character has a habait of eating people, what kind of example is that too set to viewers?

i'd certainly read a book of Madame Vastra. not sure a tv series would work or even be feasible.

What flavour? This is important.

Flame grilled steak. or those bacon crisp things that the Co-Op do as two for £1

Uh ... point of order? You Brits have bacon-flavored potato chips?!
Yep. Smoky Bacon, usually. But I think your man there is referring to the maize snacks that are supposed to look bacony. I like 'em. But I prefer the salt 'n vinegar maize snacks. As I said - these things are important.

:D

I'm all for more Madame Vastra & Jenny, be it TV specials, appearances on Who, or a series of novels. They were one of the highlights of the mid-season finale, IMO.

I'm not sure if a series would work (but I'd certainly watch if they tried), but I definitely want to see them again in some form.
