America's Attack on the Lemonade Stand

You mean like the incontrovertible fact that businesses routinely poisoned and maimed their employees and customers with unsafe products and equipment, until they were regulated to stop doing so? You mean that kind of realism?

I get that you're kinda young and raging against the machine and all, and I'm sure you can find perfectly valid examples where the government has overreached. That does not justify reflexive rejection of everything the government does as unnecessary or malevolent.

you are talking about big companies, I just mean a tent selling bottled drinks and candy bars...big difference.

What if it's a tent selling bottled drinks and chocolate bars run by adults? That should be regulated, shouldn't it? There is a point where it goes beyond a bunch of kids selling lemonade made from concentrate.

Why does it need to be regulated if its just bottled drinks, candy bars, bags of chips and so on...

Because you're now selling food. I mean, hell, if it's that easy, just open up a food stand on a street corner and sell there. The problem is when you don't follow proper health and safety precautions. Spoiled or tainted food is no joke, and people can die from it.

I have seen expired food on the shelves in gas stations, no g-men rushing in to shut them down, its just an excuse to milk more money out of the citizens of this country to feed the bloated beast of a federal government, and state government as well, which has become its bitch...

You really have no idea what you're talking about.

No, it's not "just an excuse". Do you know anything about the food preparation industry? Do you know anything about the regulatory industry? Do you know anything about how businesses operate and what restrictions are placed upon them for the better health and safety of the public? I don't think you do, or you would understand why food safety regulations are in place and for what reasons.

Those gas stations that have the expired food? They will eventually get caught. See, contrary to popular belief, the U.S. government doesn't send around teams of food safety inspectors to raid gas stations. Health Inspectors do visit businesses that sell food, and when they find expired food, those businesses are fined. Some are shut down if they grossly exceed the regulatory limit.

I'm saying that tents and stands that sell prepackaged food are not that dangerous, hell just check the can, or bag and see if the food is expired, if it is do not buy it...common sense...but I can see you don't have any of that...I am not talking about not regulating meat processing plants or so on, just that taxing and permits for small temp stands and tents is government extortion.

Yeah. Because they're regulated.

Dennis covered why this article is a crock nicely, so no need to reiterate that point. The first thing that popped into my head when I read that sensationalist title was "The War on Christmas," and the article didn't disappoint with its similarly pathetic justification for there being an agenda against the traditional kids neighborhood lemonade stand.

Not that anecdotal evidence means much (though it's about as worthwhile as the counter-examples given in the article), but I've purchased lemonade from kids with a neighborhood stand a few times this summer while out walking or biking, and the tradition seems alive and well from where I stand.

Is that you Ron Paul? Is this me?

Why?

Isn't it obvious, I support changing the federal government back to what it was before the war of northern aggression, which caused the federal government to turn into an oppressive entity, while Ron Paul doesn't believe that much into government reduction, hes the closest one.

No, and it should never be "obvious", unless your politics are as shallow as a mud puddle.

I support changing the federal government back to what it was before the war of northern aggression,
A proponent of slavery? In favor of child labor? Letting black people be considered 3/5ths of a person? Ready to tear itself apart over fundamental ideological issues? By the way, unless you're from the deep south, "War of Northern Aggression" should be an unfamiliar term to you, particularly at your age.

which caused the federal government to turn into an oppressive entity, while Ron Paul doesn't believe that much into government reduction, hes the closest one.
That sounds like a lack of understanding about history and politics. Your posts do not sound well thought out or well informed at all. They sound more reactionary than thought out.

I see you got taught the propaganda that was spewed forth from northern schools about the illegal war of northern aggression, it was fought over state rights and unfair trade tariffs, slavery was a very small part of it that has been inflated to give the illegal war an air of moral justification.

You are incorrect.

I am confident you could use that reply on any Ninjacore post and have it still be accurate.

The war was illegal, Lincoln was a war criminal for okaying the slash and burn policies that burnt down homes, slaughtered cattle and salted the fields to destroy the food supply of CIVILIANS...
