I think my cat is sick, need some help.

Is your cat doing any better?

My cat is doing better, thank you. He's not closing his eye as much today and he's more active. I think it's just an irritation of the eye, but I'm going to call my vet tomorrow and get their advice. I know I should have called today but I had to work unexpectedly, and the vet was closed by the time I was off.

Cool, i'd die if my baby was hurt...

Didn't know other places didn't have a 24 hour vet hospital so no need to be a dick.

Given the tone of your post, I think being a dick was an appropriate response.
No, Flaming is never appropriate. Please let's cool it with that sort of thing.

Yeah! What the grape said!

And Aldo, glad to hear the furball is doing better. Always a good idea to bring them to the vet if you're unsure of what's going on.

Reputable places won't charge a whole lot it if turns out to be nothing.

One of mine had a bump on his chin. It turned out to be where the girl had nicked him with a back claw during a tussle, but I did find out he had gingivitis and have been brushing his teeth ever since.

I'm not trying to be an asshole but why do people come to a site and ask questions? If this were my cat, I would be at the vet, asap, no matter how small it ended up being. Better safe than sorry.

I agree with you 100%. I'll ask mundane questions on the engineering board I mod because if it takes a couple of days to get an answer about a security fence, who cares. Unless the was a veterinary board, why would I ask random questions here instead of calling my vet and trying to do a little research on the matter.

Completely non-dick IMO.

Hope your cat's better. Mine had an eye inflammation when I picked him up from the shelter that went away in 7-10 days with a twice-daily eye ointment treatment. Fortunately it's MUCH easier to administer eye ointment than it is to feed a cat any other form of medicine.

My cat's eye appears to have gotten better on it's own. I'm going to keep monitering him for the next few days but as of right now he seems fine. His eye is still slightly cloudy but that seems to be going away on it's own.
