DW BBC's Biggest Seller In 2010

(I doubt BBC Worldwide are happy that they won't have a full series to sell in 2012)

Although I don't have facts to back this up, my instinct is telling me they'll be busy doing other stuff. After a 6-year moratorium, BBC Books is starting to publish novels based on "classic series" Doctors again (the Steven Baxter Second Doctor novel and the novelisation of Shada), 2 Entertain/BBC Video loosened the purse strings for an animated restoration of one of the lost stories ... if I were a betting man I'd put some money on BBC Worldwide gearing up for the 50th anniversary by making the classic series available again, in part if not in total. If they do that, I think they'll be kept busy in 2012.

And anyway, until an announcement to the contrary is made, I'm still assuming that Doctor Who is simply moving into a traditional Fall-Spring broadcast mode, with the first episodes airing in the fall and the remainder after Christmas. Basically the way it used to be, only with fewer episodes. The idea of 2012 being just a special or 2 was already debunked by the BBC a few weeks ago.
