Merlin season 4 news

there's a news feature in this month's SFX on Merlin season 4.

SPOILERS for those who want to go in completely cold. but most isn't much you can't work out from S3.

The Knights of the Round Table will be around (arf) a lot.

Arthur will be ruling Camelot as regent.

Morgana wants vengeance in the opening 2-parter

they're playing up the Lancelot/Gwen/Arthur triangle

Uther will appear despite going bats and ASH having been cast in a US show.

each season has a 'subtitle' of sorts for the creators when storylining it. last year was 'the battle for Camelot'. this year's was going to be 'the search for Emrys', it's now 'The darkest hour is before the dawn'.

apparently the thing of an old Merlin may reappaer

it's been shot on 35mm for the first time, making look a movie. the creators say they want it to look like Game of Thrones, only more fantastical and with less sex.

Merlin returns to BBC 1 later in the year.
 
Damn, I still need to finish the last couple episodes of season 3. I recorded them back when they originally aired, I just haven't watched them yet.:scream:

You still have plenty of time, Merlin S4 won't be airing for at least several months
 
It will be this fall in the UK? Not some crazy year delay thing?

Not likely to be any earlier than the UK. So, check SyFy's schedule (Probably Friday Nights) around the time the UK starts airing, and you can take a good shot at guessing when it might air here. No facts are known yet, though, so anyone would simply be theorizing

Not so sure about the Friday thing, since that's their wrestling night now. Then again, did they show Merlin after wrestling on Fridays last season? I don't remember.

Yes, they did, hence the suggestion of Friday Nights.
 
It was a season behind here, wasn't it? February or May thereabouts? SyFy did confirm its renewal I believe last year, just not when.

Series 3, I believe was fairly close to the UK's airing, no more than a couple/few months.

Here in Canada I missed them completely as a cable channel showed them with little publicity, so right now I'm waiting for the DVD release. Needless to say, I haven't read the OP in detail! ;)

I just found them on ITunes and I might go that route. I still use record with VHS, and I find it hard to watch it with such horrible quality, when everything else I do is either DVD or HD quality.
 
It is streaming on Netflix, too. 1 and 2 at least, not sure about 3. And Hulu I think rotates their episodes.
 
I just checked last night and Hulu still has just Season 2 episodes, and Netflix has 1 and 2.
 
I'm amazed how much this series has transformed itself from series 1 to series 3.

Hopefully now that the Round Table has been semi-formed, Excalibur placed in waiting, and Arthur as Camelot's Regent. This is leading up to Merlin becoming known to Arthur.

I'd love to see how that changes and shapes their eventual relationship ala Gaius & Uther.
 
^At this point I'm more likely to ignore Confidential altogether, seems to have been getting progressively pointless. Less about the show more about the cast doing stuff, like diving with sharks, driving cars, acting stupid with each other.
