Commander Thomas W. Riker Vs. Commander William T. Riker
After many requests by myself & Admiral Janeway (Who has been permanently assigned here to oversee the chartering of planets & development of partnerships with these planets in the Delta Quadrant after a brief stint back on Earth), I have finally been approved for a 1st officer (Took Starfleet long enough considering that I've NEVER gone more than three months without one at any other point in my entire career but that's another story for another day
). But there's one slight problem to that
His name is THOMAS W. RIKER
Yes, that's right - THE Thomas W. Riker - Who was "Conceived" as a result of a transporter mishap involving then-Lieutentant William T. Riker
Well anyways, needless to say, he has risen though the ranks & now holds the rank of Commander
But having him here has become quite the adventure for Katherine & I. For example, we sometimes find ourselves having to ORDER him to relax when in informal settings. We're sure some of it is just his way of trying to impress us but you would think he'd outgrow most of it by now
In other words, he holds the rank of Commander BUT his actions are sometimes more indicative of a young budding Lieutenant (Like what his older brother Will used to be, only he eventually outgrew the habit)
We're not sure what to make of it
I dunno about Katherine but I've never had a 1st officer quite like Tom (That's what we informally call him BTW). If anyone has, please gimme a clue as to what you did to deal with it (I'm open to suggestions)
