I agree, whoever wrote Genesis saw something. Trying to comprehend it or write it down without scientific background, however...there was NO way we were going to get a textbook--and I think it's foolish of us to act as though that's what was going to happen.

I am a strong athiest who will never doubt that there is no god or higher being. I know deep down that the earth took longer than just 6 days to be here. I hate when certain religious people try to take away other people's right because it doesn't follow their faith(like abortion). I hate it when people take it upon themselves to try to change me to religion just because I say I am atheist(even after I say that I don't want to get into debates) But generally when people try to debate me, they get nowhere, short of jesus himself coming down infront of me(and me not being able to proof its fake by any means) there is nothing that can make me doubt and change.

Are you certain you understand the universe enough to claim it is too complex to be without a creator? Saying "first speck of microscopic cosmic whatever it was" makes me doubt you do, for some reason.

If I hadn't spent my lunch hour yesterday arguing with a co-worker as to why intelligent design should not be mandated subject matter in science classrooms, I might be a teensy bit perturbed at your condescension, Ha'kiv. Fortunately I did, so I'm not.

To those who pointed out that I'm not an evangelical tyrant because I entertain the possibility that some higher consciousness in some capacity might exist, and that I do, in fact, have breasts, I thank you.

This topic is being discussed behind the scenes to determine what action should be taken. In the meantime, I'm closing this down.
