No one should care if there is an intelligent creator of reality as we know it? Why in the world shouldn't we care about such an important thing?
There are a few different ways that I look at it:
1. From a scientific perspective, there is no proof, either way, so it is irrelevant.
2. From within a religious framework: If I do good things, I am a good person, and I presume would enter into Heaven when I die. If I do bad things, I would be damned. BUT, if I only do good things BECAUSE I would go to Heaven, or to avoid Hell, then I am selfish and a hypocrite, and the Bible specifies that hypocrisy is one of the worst sins. So the way I see it, I'll just live, be the best person I can be for my own sake and the sake of the people around me, and let the metaphysical sort itself out however it wants to. If I do that, and I die, and I end up before some pearly gates or whatever, and I am told that yes, I tried my best to be a good person, but because I refused to bend a knee to Someone in the process I am going to Hell, then I will go, and gladly. Because if the "powers of Good" are going to be all douche-y like that, then perhaps the "powers of Evil" aren't as bad as they are billed as, either!
2a. I'm an American, and I don't see where we should be bending a knee to anyone. If Jesus wants to show up and be buds, that's fine, but we fought a war to not have to call people things like "Lord".
3. We waste an awful lot of resources on worshipping things that we can't prove exist. Resources that, to be really ironic, could be used to help REAL people who really need help, which would be in adherence to what Jesus said we should be doing in the first place!
So I don't know, and I don't care. And I do it for Jesus.
