I'm surprised I could find a thread about this. Here's the description from Syfy:
It's directed by the same guy who did Alice and Tin Man, both of which I really enjoyed, so I'm really looking forward to this one. I love that they actually got Bob Hoskins back as Smee, he was one of my favorite parts of Hook. It's also going to be airing in the UK on Sky movies.

It's Syfy's next high profile miniseries. And it will be live action.

Sounds...intriguing. I really enjoyed Tin Man so I'm looking forward to this.

I can't see Anna Friel as a power-mad villain. That's like casting a cocker spaniel as a pit bull. :rommie:

Yeah, I'm very curious to see what kind of a villain she will be.
So far the only thing I've been disappointed by is the fact that they appear to only be using Keira Knightley's voice for Tinker Bell and not her appearance. I guess it could be her face, we never did get any close ups in either of the trailers, but everything only lists her voice.
Oh, I just realized, I forgot to put in a link to the Sky movies page. They also have one for Syfy, but all that has is a short trailer, and the description I posted above. Like usual, the British version is alot better.

The two parts are airing on Sky Movies Premiere on July 8th and July 15th.

Thanks for the thread, might not have been aware of it otherwise. :techman:

  10. So who's the show-runner?

I think that's a fair bit more important than the casting to determine whether this going to be worth a damn or not.

edit: oh wait its a miniseries not a series. Well i might give it a look.

I've been underwhelmed by these mini's so far, although I did like some of Tin Man's casting. The approach is just too...blowsy and unfocused, I guess is how I'd describe it. Hard to maintain interest.

Considering I loved the heck outta both Tin Man and Alice, I'm excited as all get out for Neverland.

Keira Knightley is voicing Tinker Bell? That's almost as crazy as Depp playing a pirate! :rommie:

Looks like Pirates of the Carribean with a dash of Narnia and Syfy Megagator thrown in. That said, it's not a horrible approach.

Well, it's an RHI production after all.

Syfy picked it up for airing in the US, but it's a co-production between Parallel Films and Sky Movies Production. And it's a miniseries, so there's no issue as to possible cancellation by Syfy as there would be with an ongoing series.

SyFy/Sci-Fi Channel aired both Tin Man and Alice; there's nothing different this time around. Same production team, same cable channel airing it.

Timothy: There's only one official Peter Pan book, the one written by J.M. Barrie. Anything else is purely speculative.
