Moab or Canyonlands, perhaps? Very rugged and scenic country in that part of Utah, but that is not what is pictured here. Instead...Here's a pic, just for fun:
Oh, that looks like it's somewhere east of Capitol Reef in Utah. I forget the name of the area.
the top (seventh) switchback of Seven Level Hill, where Highway 74 climbs up a steep part of Mt. San Jacinto, coming out of Palm Desert, California (just out of frame at the top left.) Several scenes from It's A Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World were filmed along this stretch of road, some of them collected in this clip.
