My Voyager ReBoot Universe

Hello all,

Some of you may remember that I rewrote the script of "Caretaker" for my ReBooted Trek universe. I plan to hopefully do some more on this project, when I find the time.

Meanwhile however, I have created my own little nook of the interweb for my ReBooted Voyager for those that might be interested.

Read the alternate version of "Caretaker". I went into the reading the script in its entirety assuming that Riker got Voyager after a tour as first officer of Enterprise-D.

Not quite, more like: what if Riker and Janeway switched places?

In the ReBoot, Riker is the 35 year old newly promoted Captain of Voyager, whilst Janeway has been Picard's "Number One" since the Enterprise-D was launched.

Hello all,

For anyone that has read and enjoyed my ReBoot of Voyager, I had a stray thought a couple weeks ago about my crew, and it's been nagging at me since, so I thought I would post the issue here to see what feedback might come my way.

Currently (as I'm sure you know) I have Lieutenant Commander [provisional] Ro Laren as Voyager's XO. Whilst I love the character and Michelle Forbes, I have my Ro keeping her troubled background with Starfleet and only getting her career back on track thanks to Picard's endorsement, as I liked that aspect of her. But out in the Delta Quadrant that isn't really a big issue, and though she does have some command experience it does seem a little odd for Riker to make her his "Number One" over the likes of Tuvok or Stadi.

So I thought what if it was another officer, a young up-and-comer who--like Chakotay--left Starfleet to defend her home from the Cardassians. As soon as I had this thought, Lieutenant Commander Shelby (again I love the character and Elizabeth Dennehy) suddenly popped into my head as someone that could be adapted to become a woman who had loads of potential but packed it all in to protect/avenge her home and family.

So my dilemma is this: do I keep Ro and carry on (with Riker taking Picard's endorsement of her) or replace Ro with Shelby.

Thoughts, theories, comments, questions?

With that mind, Janeway could have made Tuvok XO rather than Chakotay. I'm okay with Ro as first officer since she was tabbbed in that role for DS9 before Forbes backed out.
