But that makes no sense either, how could she know it was there last kiss when she didn't know she was going to die at the library? Hell she probably didn't even know she was going to the library?
Makes you wonder if there's a lot of snogging on the horizon. Speaking personally, I prefer a sexy Doctor to an asexual one. Since the Time Lords clearly reproduced originally and still had sexes, I'm guessing the asexuality thing is because the shows were originally much more restricted in what could and couldn't be put in a family show.

While I have really enjoyed the flirting and innuendo between the Doctor and River, I am pretty sure that I would not enjoy the show as much if we see these two (or the Doctor and anyone else) as forming a completely fleshed out (so to speak!), ongoing romantic relationship. I think it would greatly change the feel of the show.
I never liked "Cheers" as much once Sam & Diane got together, as the tension between them before they were together was more interesting to watch. I would prefer that this not become a focus of Doctor Who. We'll see!....

Actually, come to think of it, wasn't "Forest of the Dead" the first time the Doctor really started trading on his own reputation? He bluffed his way through "The Christmas Invasion," but he didn't call back to any of his prior exploits to back up his threats, and the Daleks were always afraid of him, but that's because of they knew him. I think "Forest" was when he started threatening bad guys and telling them to consider what he's done to other people before they come at him.
And yeah, while there are obvious drawbacks to being seen as the baddest mother in time and space, there are definite benefits, too. If he'd done it in "Human Nature," for instance, it would've saved a lot of lives.
How about this instead: Before she was ever born, her parents knew her as River Song. When she was born, they named her Melody Pond. However, once they found out why River Song was called River Song, they just started calling Melody by that name since that's the name she's going to end up being known by.
No need for River to be raised by any Gamma Forest people. AFAIAC the Gamma Forest people are probably over with now.

The Doctor leaves his friends behind to take off and find their child and the audience doesn't know what happens after that.
What I'm hoping is that all this River/Doctor stuff happens off-screen and the Doctor visits Amy and Rory again, from their perspective only a few days/weeks later, but it's been like 200 years for him and the whole River/Doctor romance is over or at least shoved into the background. The fan faction and novels can fill up all that gap.
Then we can get back to proper adventuring without so much interpersonal drama. I think I'm about ready for Amy to go. Bring on a new companion! Maybe a brunette this time. OOh! I know. How about a brunette half-asian white girl from the south. I might know someone! ;-)
