Upcoming Publications: May/June 2011

Didn't you make a whole new thread on this last night and less than half an hour before you wrote this here!

Yes, so? I put it her for Rosalind because sometimes such non Pocket/Gallery books get missed out in the various Upcoming threads. Last few times I did this she thanked me - and once, when I didn't, a few books slipped past her.

Sheesh. It's only a link. I didn't double-post the whole thing.

Not everyone reads every thread. Is there a rule that hyperlinks can only ever appear in one place?

I thought you'd say that.

I know it's only a link, just seems a little pointless putting it her less than half an hour after you created it's very own thread on the subject.

Pardon the half hour spent trying to give the sick dog his medication, which is what interrupted me.

Lots of things I do are probably pointless. I thought I was being helpful.

Ignore the blathering. I didn't read the other thread yet and even if I did, I think it's very appropriate to be posted here. Thanks. :techman:

^This.

Dimesdan, please leave the modding to the moderators.

So I see something I feel like pointing out and this gets called modding!

Did I actually tell him he can't post it or give him an infraction for trolling? Nope, don't think so. So it's not exactly modding now is it!

Tis nice to see the two resident Mods on the ball tonight. :bolian:

Nope. This is modding.

And with all of the help that Therin has provided over many years to those of us who enjoy TrekLit but tend to ask a lot of questions in this forum without necessarily taking (or having) the time to preview earlier threads, I've never once seen him be smarmy or condescending or sarcastic about providing an answer or a link or clarifying a misunderstanding...and is even more helpful and detailed when things are delved into in PM.

So let him be.

It's unfortunate that you don't see his unintended duplication of effort as helpful, but even if it was intended as you claim, that's for the mods to deal with, in which case a PM to them is more diplomatic than trying to nark on him in front of everybody here.

^ Come to think of it, I probably should have practiced what I preached and PM'd you rather than point this out in the thread. My bad.

Indeed.

The edit function is really useful aswell.

All I did was ask him why he felt the need to post a thread and also post pretty much the same information in here.

It seemed pointless. Still does to be honest.

As does what has been said since.

I was not trying to mod, I was asking why it was done. It's the first time I've seen someone post a thread on a subject and then less than thirty minutes later post it in a separate thread.

Just to clarify though.

1. I had no hidden intention behind my original comment, I asked: Didn't you make a whole new thread on this last night and less than half an hour before you wrote this here! The reason why I asked was because I was curious of an answer, like when ever I and like many other people ask a question.

2. If I want to "nark" at someone (what ever that means) or just ask a question, I will. This is allowed though isn't it SicOne?

Oh and finally. Kettle. Black and Pot all came to mind once reading your two pence. ;)

I just wanted to let the Nook and Kindle owners among us know that Vanguard: Declassified and Greg Cox's Warehouse 13 novel: A Touch of Fever are both now available for pre-order from B&N and Amazon.

Huh? Amazon.de has all the Star Trek Kindle-Books available for pre-order up to Rise Like Lions. Is that not the case for amazon.com?

Oh, they are, my mistake. I had thought since it just became available for the Nook, that the same was probably true for the Kindle as well. Since they generally seemed to follow each other pretty closely, when it comes to that kind of stuff.

VOY: "Children of the Storm" has just arrived at the newly-relocated Galaxy Bookshop in Sydney, Australia. They have moved to Level 1 inside Abbey's, just down the street from the previous location.

^ what happened to the books that used to be in Level 1 of Abbey's?

thanks for the heads-up on the new location. :)

I want to know when star trek mirrior universe glass empire will be aviable in e form on the nook. argh

A whole lotta offices have been removed from both sides of the top level, and the Language dept has shifted over to the left (coming up the stairs) and Galaxy is now to the right. They aren't exactly pleased with the new arrangement, but have been reassured by Abbey's that they haven't really lost any shelf space. Sadly, they were hoping to get bigger, but the old shop was costing too much in rent.
