Choose a Smiley

I realize a few may say this comes too closely on the heel's of Red Ranger's departure, but I'm a big fan of saying what you want to say to someone before their death, not only after.

With that in mind, and with the discussions of a Smiley in RR's honor, I'd like to invite everyone to choose a smiley for a TBBS poster you are fond of. My first thought was to choose your own, but I think choosing for someone else is more in the spirit of the occasion. Please, nothing negative (a noose smiley for a TNZ enemy, for example).

If the smiley already exists somewhere, go ahead and post it for us all to see. If it doesn't (or maybe you just don't know it does?) then post a description of your idea for the poster you have in mind.

By all means, don't feel limited to one poster. There's love to go around!

Perhaps unsurprisingly, RR's passing and teh talk about a smilie tribute to him caused me to wonder what I'd like to commemorate me when the time comes. Of course, I hope by the far-off time that happens, then the internet will have evolved such that a smiley is more an emotional neural note that's inserted into the unconscious, but still... :D

I'll put my thinking cap on as to what would good smilies for other posters.

Memorials are one of those things that nobody ever lives to see being made... unless you're a pharaoh.:)

When memorials are crafted, they tend to follow traditional designs: plaques, wreaths, stones, etc, including the contents of a funeral service. These are the sorts of things we'd expect others to do/make as a memorial for us.

But the question that is rarely asked is, would you appreciate these particular memorials done in your name? Do they fit your personality? Do you think people in general would like their memorials if they could see them? Do they really fit anybody, or are they just traditional relics that we come to expect, quietly follow, and do not question?

For myself: I don't like those memorial plaques with names on them. I find wreaths to be quite unattractive things. I find funerals to be overtly formal and stuffy, obsessed with black, and which follow tired and antiquated designs.

I am not sure what you mean here. Is a 'smiley' an emoticon?
Here you go.

I'm going to have to update my smiley. It's seen several corporate changes over the last year or so.
