i have begun watching TNG. i love it. 3 episodes in, and i love it. :techman:

very exited! what movies should i watch before each season?

Glad you're enjoying it, it must be great to watch it fresh for the first time.

All the TNG movies are set after the end of the series, so you don't need to watch any of them just yet.

I would watch the TOS movies: the first 6 ones, IIRC. They might help with the gap in technology and time and in-universe changes. But then again, they might not. There's one or two references to the uniforms from the TOS films in Next Generation.

RNG? I thought they were still just talking about the remastering :)

Star Treks I - IV all came out before TNG premiered, so if you haven't seen them, go right ahead. They don't so much add to the continuity of TNG as much as they provide a history, in the sense that many ships and design elements originated there, as well as aliens, politics and a general understanding of the worlds and certain characters. II-IV form a loose trilogy that started with a sequel to the TOS episode "Space Seed", again not required viewing, but definitely adds to the richness.

Star Trek V was/is considered apocryphal by some, and while an amusing romp, is far from the best of the films and doesn't relate to TNG much at all (except for borrowing some of TNG's sets back)

Star Trek VI should be watched after TNG S5 Unification Parts I and II.

The rest of the films feature the TNG cast and all take place after the end of the series.

Enjoy! :techman:
