anyone care about TNT/TBS upfront?

TNT/TBS.

I guess CBS doesn't have enough cop shows, so they're adding a bunch more. Here are the TNT shows that sound a bit intriguing:

Untitled Kip Koenig/John Wells Productions Project – Set against the backdrop of the Pacific Northwest, this drama follows a family of cops who uncover the mystical and often crime-ridden world of a small town where things aren’t as they appear. The project comes to TNT from Warner Horizon Television, Kip Koenig (Grey’s Anatomy) and John Wells Productions (Southland, Shameless, The West Wing).

Like Twin Peaks, but without the S2 flameout?

Gateway – In a nation still healing from the Civil War, lawlessness rules the small towns of the Old West. Three brothers bound by duty, honor and self-preservation take a stand. Together, they fight to survive and thrive – all in a small town called Gateway. The series comes to TNT from Warner Horizon Television, Bruce McKenna (The Pacific, Band of Brothers), Danny Cannon (CSI) and Deran Serafian (House, CSI).

I'm not big on Westerns, but it sounds different anyway.

Enigma – Enigma is a modern-day mystery-of-the-week in the vein of Sherlock Holmes. The project comes to TNT from CBS Television Studios and Anthony Zuiker (CSI), Matt Weinberg and Ed Whitmore (Waking the Dead), who will write the pilot script.

It would be cooler if set in the 19th C. Hoping for at least light genre elements.

TNT and TBS originally programming isn't really my thing, but any of these could turn out to be interesting.

I'll probably check out Gateway and Enigma. I've been waiting for modern westerns, and with the NBC show not being picked up, it'll be Gateway and Hell on Wheels on AMC. I'm also a Holmes fan, so the Enigma comparison to Holmes has me excited and scared that they're just using Holmes as a shorthand for episodic mystery.

All three of those shows sound pretty good from the descriptions here. I will probably check them out.

I don't care for TNT/TBS but those shows you highlighted sound interesting--when do they premiere?

Probably in the fall. They should release their schedules like the networks do.

In addition to Falling Skies debuting in June, I noticed this show from TNT. It was picked up to series in March. No idea when it debuts.

...possibly awesome, possibly baffling Perception, a drama about a hallucinating neuroscientist who solves crimes, played by a scruffy Eric McCormack.

Those shows are just part of the development slate. They haven't been ordered to pilot or to series yet. It remains to be seen whether they get picked up and if they do so the earliest they'll debut is likely summer or fall 2012. The only new scripted shows TNT is launching for sure are Falling Skies and Franklin & Bash this year and Major Crimes and Perception next year.

I haven't watched either network in years, and never plan to again. Unless they put on something interesting. And even then, I'll most likely wait for the DVD.

Will of Will and Grace? I just can't picture this...

Do I care? In a word, no. I only watch some of the comedy reruns on TBS if there is nothing else on, and I watch TNT's Lord of the Rings airings only to complain that it is pan and scan even in HD. I used to watch some baseball on TBS ages ago, and TNT did have some good miniseries and TV movies back in the day, but generally I haven't watch any of their originals post Witchblade. Wow.
