Wait. So they're about to get married in 2011, and then seven years later they STILL haven't finished the job?

Yeah, don't quite get that part. Rest was fine, and Jimmy was a nice touch, but they had already been at the church 7 years ago, no reason to stall that part...

I guess maybe they felt waiting would be better, to help develop the Clark persona.

The Bad

- Not a great two hours. Too much talk and wheel-spinning.

- I'm disappointed that we didn't get to see Welling in the suit.

- Darkseid defeated with a double fly-in punch.

- Lex's memory wipe = 10 years wasted.

- Apokalips pushed out of the way and everything's okay.

- The wedding is put off and they still aren't married after seven years?

The Good

- We saw Jimmy played by Aaron Ashmore. Nice touch.

- At least we heard Perry White.

- Loved the music.

- Clark ripping off his shirt didn't make up for the lack of Superman, but it was a good moment.

I give it an "Excellent" he became Superman and it was all handled well in the last 10-15 minutes with him saving the plane, stopping the "Big Ball O' Evil" and then the "classic Superman" bit at the end with Perry, Lois, Clark and Jimmy. Just too much.

But... in the intervening time did everyone forget that Lois and Clark were dating and going to hook up?

So basically, all the future stuff was good, but all the smallville/current time period stuff was bad lol

I really liked it. Clark accepted his destiny and I think I saw enough of Clark as Superman to be satisfied.

Well, after seeing this and the first five or six episodes of the series, I think I can safely say I got the full Smallville experience. :p

The best part of this episode was the future 7 seven years later, which is kinda funny, since this show was called Smallvlle. The Smallville parts were the bad ones haha.

They shoulda just made another Lois and Clark series, i think welling would fit the part

So on a scale of series finales with "worst" being, oh, "These Are the Voyages" and best being, say, the Finale of M*A*S*H where would we put this one?

I'd put it in the middle. Given how this series has been the last few years it seems fitting but it ended on enough of a "Superman vibe" to really give it something and, well, this series was about Clark's journey to Superman. So, I guess it makes sense the final minutes of it would feature him.

I really rate this one an Excellent and aside from the plodding-ness, the stretching of things out, filler, and the 1-2-KO handling of our villains I think I was satisfied with what happened here.

OK I was really annoyed that we didn't get a shot of welling in costume, if for no other reason so we'd have a picture to go with all the other superman actors in costume. That last bit in the future really made we want to watch a new regular superman TV series.

The finale was like the series itself, plodding and stretched out but it ended the way it should have, just took a bit too long.
