OK, I won't work more in this drawing. So here you have MUPirate Janeway:

Spalko this is wonderful! :techman:

I'm glad you liked it, Gov Kodos and HoneyBLilly :D

curious: Janeway/KM (I consider intertwined) both f/m but allows/needs to have m characteristics to predominate. Am I wrong? Do others see this?

Spalko: you've visually captured my current situation :)

If you refer to make characteristics, I think that Janeway clearly has a m side that shows quite a lot. There are scenes where her pose, her attitude when facing other characters shows that side and I think that m side makes her character even more appealing and strong.

Spalko! It's so beautiful! I want to stare at it for a while longer, and then if you don't mind, I would like to ask you some questions about how you did it.

Spalko,
Can't think of questions yet, too busy staring! Also found your WIP pics on Tumblr. Studying assiduously.

ETA to remove shouting. I got a little worked up over this awesome AWESOME OH CRAP THERE GOES THE SHOUTING AGAIN!

Good, because there you can see the process I follow with each drawing. Plain colors-> shadows/lights-> details... and tons of hours to make all look right, and even redoing some parts when I'm not happy with them.

Just remember Janeway. Calm, balance. Excitement is understandable, but do not forgo rationality...

Brain starting to recover from Sexy Janeway Overdose now.

Is it all in Photoshop?
Is that a screen capped face on a body you drew yourself?
Did you draw the textures/shadows/etc by hand?

I just spent about nine hours (over the past week) recoloring a black and white photo in Photoshop by adding color layers for each part of the photo and applying them over the original. Is your process anything like that?

ETA: Lurok, LOL. You're so funny!

I just recently started using brb and gtg.

I've been spending too much time with my sister.

Think you have to share (for anyone older than 20)....

brb = be right back? (did google that)

gtg = even without google figured might be 'good to go' but in fact is 'got to go'...

hopefully we'll never have such crass terms here....

Yep. :)

And Well . . . .

2day I plan to LOTBSOL cuz I'm hoping to be @ an AYCE and an AYCD cuz the BBAMFIC said I have to, but you know D30, and I plan on staying ALAP.

I can hang with the cool kids, since we're all gangsta here in 5-3-Oh.

Yes, it's done in photoshop. I always do my drawings with this program.

This drawing is a redo of an old pirate drawing (you can see it in the first step, more light than the face) I kept the old drawing in the background as a reference. The face is the actual drawing and I drew it over the old drawing to see if it would fit with the pose.

Yes, all is drew by hand, the only texture used was one on the leather belt, the chest one, to help it to look more realistic. There was no need to use it because those textures could be drawn, but I liked how it looked and I kept it.
The shadows are done by hand too. I play with them trying to make the drawing more realistic.

Yes, when I colour a B&W drawing, like this one, I do the same you do when colouring a B&W photo. I add a new layer with the color I want (in color mode) I merge the layers and them I adjust the colors with different photoshop options until I get the right tone, the tone I want, then I work in lights and shadows by adding them by hand.

It's all about spending time, a lot of time and enjoying working on details, being a perfectionist. This drawing is HUGE, I made to print it, so the details get a bit lost when you look at the small version.

Yeah, no daggone kidding! I see the properly-shaped shadow of the sword hilt on the belt buckle! You don't overlook ANYTHING! Amazing. Much more staring will be done later today.

So . . . are we all wondering what the rest of that tattoo looks like? ;)

:guffaw::guffaw::guffaw:

I am so sorry. :guffaw::guffaw:

I had to rise to the challenge. I really did. And it gave me the first laugh I have had since Thursday.

OK. What it translates to is:

2day I plan to LOTBSOL cuz I'm hoping to be @ an AYCE and an AYCD cuz the BBAMFIC said I have to, but you know D30, and I plan on staying ALAP.

Today I plan to look on the bright side of life because I am hoping to be at an all you can eat and an all you can drink because the Big Bad Ass Mother F***** said that I should go, but you know it'll be Drink '30, and I plan on staying as late as possible.

I can hang with the cool kids, since we're all gangsta here in 5-3-Oh.

5-3-Oh is how the gangs here say our area code.

If you want anything to look realistic, you must pay attention to details. ;)

Oh, the tattoo.. it goes from her shoulder/chest to her elbow. It's a maori tribal tattoo that she got in one of her travels around the world
