“NNC-1701-E”?YESTERDAY, a news.com.au article incorrectly stated that the Star Trek starship USS Enterprise-E, otherwise known as model NNC-1701-E, was the successor to Captain Kirk's original USS Enterprise.
- There were many USS Enterprises
- Kirk didn't captain them all
- Patrick Stewart is handsome
I have to wonder how many people reading the articles even knew what they were talking about.
After all, there hasn't been a Hobbit movie yet, which leave those of us who have read the book to understand.
I work for a printer and when I’m typesetting and proofreading copy, if there’s something that’s factually questionable, I’ll take the moment to Google it. If there’s something I know is wrong, I’ll call it to the customer’s attention.. . . I work as a copy editor for a newspaper and there are a lot of times when I'm reading something that I'm not quite sure of small details like that - I have to rely on the fact that the reporter has done their due diligence to get facts and names correct.
Enterprise-D and Enterprise-E were in fact, the first of the Galaxy Class models and were under the command of Captain Picard
Oh, I wish they would print the email that alerted the ombudsman of the mistake. I bet it was chock full of winning.

The Enterprise-E was Sovereign Class. If these people just used memory alpha as a reference they wouldn't have these kinds of errors.
