Summer 2011 movies

Temis the Vorta

Fleet Admiral

And they're off!

Would consider buying a movie ticket for: Captain America, Conan. (I like them hunky guys :rommie:).

Curious about: The Tree of Life, The Green Lantern, Rise of the Planet of the Apes, Don't Be Afraid of the Dark, Horrible Bosses (interesting to see Charlie Day is making the big move into movies :bolian:).

Will avoid like plague: The Smurfs, any rom-com, anything by Woody Allen.

Hmm. Well, Thor tomorrow.

Everything else really depends on reviews and word of mouth. Though Conan, The Tree of Life, The Beaver, and The Debt all sound interesting.

The only ones I can pretty much guarantee I won't be seeing are Transformers and Harry Potter. I haven't seen any of the previous movies in either series.

I think I'm looking forward to movies that doesn't involve big steroid induced guys, Marvel Comics, or any other Comic book movie other than maybe Green Lantern. Of course I may see said comic book movies, but I'm getting a little tired of them being the mainstay of the summer movie season.

Other than that, I don't know what is coming out. Maybe Cars 2 only because it's Pixar and I was one of the few who actually liked Cars. Looking forward to next year with Star Trek XII and Dark Knight Rises.

There will be plenty of those, but the big entertainment sites won't be touting them. They just tout the big-marketing-budget movies.

Like Transformers? ;)

Not a lot to look forward to it seems. Any recommendations, and to limit the search, my three favorite movies last year was True Grit, The Kings Speech and Toy Story 3

Beyond the superhero stuff, I'm curious about the remakes of Don't Be Afraid of the Dark and Fright Night.

No interest in Transformers, I'm afraid. I'm the wrong age to have any nostalgic attachment to that franchise.

Here's what I'm interested in seeing this summer:

-Thor
-Priest
-The Tree of Life
-The Hangover Part II
-X-Men: First Class
-Super 8
-Friends With Benefits
-Transformers: Dark of the Moon (pending my reading of Peter David's novel. If I like the story I'll pay to see the film)
-Cowboys and Aliens
-Captain America: First Avenger
-Rise of the Planet of the Apes (Maybe)
-Conan the Barbarian (maybe)
-Fright Night (maybe)
-Don't Be Afraid of the Dark (maybe)
-Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part II
-Something Borrowed (Maybe and only because it's written by Kristen Wiig)

I'm going to see:

Thor
Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides
X-Men: First Class
Green Lantern
Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part II
Captain America: The First Avenger
Rise of the Planet of the Apes
Don't Be Afraid of the Dark

At least if they get good reviews.

I saw Thor last week (yay for European release).

I'll be seeing Green Lantern and Captain America. Probably also Harry Potter 7 part II and X-Men: First Class.

Pirates 4, Transformers 3 if dragged by my friends. Conan, Cowboys and Aliens if I have nothing better to do.

I don't see anything else that looks interesting in the list, except maybe Cars 2.

since i've lost my job, i dunno if i'll get to see anything since Thor and Fast 5.

i can live with missing Pirates 4, Kung Fu Panda 2 and Cars 2, but i'll be super pissed if i don't get a new job and don't see XM:FC, Transformers 3 and Captain America...
