TV Ratings (Monday & Tuesday 2nd/3rd May) + Mini Catch up

^^^
I hadn't seen that one. But that's not the national Fox News either. It's another affiliate station. You can see Fox5 in the corner (as well as on the ticker) and those aren't national anchors on screen.

Oh I thought Fox did the national thing after Osama was killed, guess they got lazy because Bush didn't kill him. It would also explain the black woman.

Still funny as hell.

^^^
Some affiliates probably chose to go with their own coverage rather than switch to the national Fox News coverage - a big mistake on the part of Fox5 as it turned out.

heh thanks for adding raw and sci fi that was thank you. any idea on how south park did?

Hellcats is gone. If they(CW) keep OTH & Nikita...that leaves room for 3 pilots and less of a gamble than adding 4 pilots.

I posted South Park numbers from last week in the wednesday thread, can't remember them off top of my head. This week's numbers should be in todays or tommorow's thread depends when they are released.

Hellcats is most likely gone but I wouldn't be surprised if CW renewed it just for the hell of it. This is CW after all.

That Tues 9PM time slot has always been trouble on the CW...they should have kept Hellcats on at 9PM on Wed.

^ They always seem to make bad time slot decisions with their shows. "Smallville" has been moved around at least four times IIRC over the last five seasons alone. I'm surprised that Friday 8pm slot didn't kill it sooner.

I forgot to post about sunday cable numbers...

Breakout Kings (A&E) - 1.47 million & 0.6/2

The Killing (AMC) - 1.81 million & 0.5/1

Game of Thrones (HBO) - 2.44 million & 1.1/3

Treme (HBO) - 0.56 million & 0.2/1

The Borgias (SHO) - 0.82 million & 0.3/1

Law & Order: Criminal Intent (USA) - 5.10 million & 1.4/4

Now Obama did impact some of the shows and the same night repeats are not included, which I hear are good for Game of Thrones and The Killing. The Borgias has already been picked up as well BUT don't expect Treme to return at this point, sorry for any viewers out there.

Game of Thrones went up to a total of 3.1 million viewers with its 11pm repeat. More people are watching the same night repeat of Game of Thrones than are watching Treme in its initial airing.

Treme is well acted and has great music, but it's very "slice of life" with little forward momentum to its plot (although I hear they've tried to move at a faster pace in the second season). Even based on the first season ratings I was expecting it to be a two-season show. The second season ratings reinforce that likelihood.

Treme, first I've heard of it. Don't guess it's worth getting to know looking at those numbers.

2nd season show, I saw a trailer for 1st season and it looked good but doubt I will bother now.
I know, I went and googled it and when I saw it was in its second season I was double wow. I watch some cable shows and never once came across this or overlooked it, something.

After looking it up though it isn't something I would've likely watched anyway.

Game of Thrones also went up from its pilot in episode 3, so the show is building its audience, a great sign for its future.

I didn't want to start another topic about this.

HOUSE faces budget cuts if it gets another next season.

But I hear UMS cannot produce House in its current form for $5 million an episode, so it has been unwilling to accept a reduced license fee as it faces the possibility to have to deficit finance a show in its eighth season, something studios rarely do. But then, House is not a typical show as it is estimated to gross some $1 billion for its run from Fox license fees, off-network syndication and international sales as well as auxiliary markets. The network is not budging either, and it got fresh ammunition this week when House hit a new season low with a 2.9/8 in adults 18-49. "Both sides have drawn hard lines and are sticking to them," one person close to the situation said. "Middle ground is incredibly small, it is a very tiny dot."

An episode cut is a good thing for quality and I doubt we will notice the budget cut too much. Personally I would prefer 13-16 episodes but it will probably end up at 18 (17/18th being a 2 hour finale). If it does end up less than 18 though and they start and end with a double bill lets say, FOX cramped lineup in 2011-2012 becomes open for a short run for a new show.

Also I would put the latest rating down to spring as well as general audience erosion, it will be stronger in the fall.
