Kathryn Bigelow (The Hurt Locker) making film about Bin Laden's death

Re: Kathryn Bigelow (The Hurt Locker) making film about Bin Laden's de

Look at all the great, respected, actors who have played Hitler. Der Fuhrer's mammoth scumbaggery hasn't stopped people like Alec Guiness, Anthony Hopkins, Bruno Ganz and Ian McKellan from depicting him on film.
Indeed:)and Alec Guiness even played him as a charming fellow:D
Bruno Ganz nailed the role, IMHO. I doubt we see much Osama Bin Laden in the film, unless we see things from his perspective also:shifty::wtf:(that would be brave, but doubt it will happen..) I agree that Bigelow is a perfect director for this kind of film:bolian:

Seriously, films about Hitler got more and more authentic the more time passed. A movie about Bin Laden made today, especially a Hollywood movie, will just be Western world propaganda, nothing more.

Time needs to pass.

Yeah. We wouldn't to portray a terrorist who killed several thousand innocent Americans as a bad guy.

The issue is how you portray the bad guy. And if you do it like , then it's definately not worth it.

This is going to be an action thriller. Osama's just going to be a one-dimensional villain. I doubt they need a very great actor.

Didn't take them long, did it?

It won't be fast enough. Anyone else old enough to remember how fast two US TV movies got made about the Israeli Raid on Entebbe in 1976. They beat the Israeli made docudrama out by months. And these days National Geographic,Military, History, and Biography networks will all have up their old SEAL shows with a few new scenes added in record time.

Are you kidding, they need to jump on this story now or it'll be worthless. OBL isn't nearly as historically important as Hitler. Once the story cools, it's gone.

Yepper. Good actors will probably snub it because it'll be a nothing role. Not like the juicy Hitler roles that have been available over the years.
