The fight between Oliver & Clark...Clark is wearing a red-ish cape...the lighting makes it look darker...but it is red. ;)
The show's color is washed out, the cape itself is dark and dirty and I was falling asleep. No wonder I missed it. Nice homage, though I have to wonder why he put it on. Seems a little extravagant for someone in his situation.

Little know fact: Zod did LOTS of theatre before joining Krypton's military.

^ He and Jor-El were drama majors in the Kryptonian Arts Caste ;) They're instructor kept on telling Zod to work on his enunciation.

When the Council started to consider cutting the funding to the arts, Lex Luthor wasn't there to save prevent it from happening, so they joined the military.

Just a side thought about Ursa while we're off topic...shouldn't she be a lesbian? She's supposed to despise all men. I could understanding sharing ideological political philosophies with Zod but she's been depicted recently in the New Krypton comics as his lover. I'm not knocking lesbianism at all (my mom is one after all) I'm just making an interesting observation, or trying to point one out anyway.

Every group that "hates" another group is going to have exceptions; that one or two people of the hated group who defy whatever causes the "hate." Even misanthropes who hate all of humanity still have children, spouses, and family they love.

So it's possible Ursa hates "all men" but her husband/male friends are the few ones who are acceptable to her.

In the beginning of Superman, didn't Jor-El mention something about her having a perverse love for Zod or am I wrong?

She may hate men, but she loves the cock!

Pardon my American. :)

Exactly. Heck, the world is full of sexist, misogynistic men who think that women are only good for one thing.

Maybe Ursa felt the same way!

(Actually, the original Christopher Reeve movie implied that she preyed on children, but this was toned down when they refilmed the scene for the sequel.)

^ Yep but something that was brought in to the New Krypton Ursa. She wanted to kill her own son lol. Not a good mom.

Mostly because Richard Lester is a hack idiot who's watched way too many Three Stooges movies.

Now, hey, I like slapstick, comedy and the Stooges plenty myself but it didn't belong in friggin-Superman movie!

^ Yeah the scene in the Fortress where Superman uses a "magic wrap" from his crest on his costume is just ridiculous. I can't watch the Lester version of Superman II. I've not seen the Donner cut either but I doubt that was his idea. Donner seems to have a fundamental understanding about who and what Superman is.

Ugh, the wrapping S-Shield. Where the fuck did that come from?!

And didn't Lester come up with the mind-erasing kiss?

Jesus, he was a hack. But I will say that for the most part Superman II (Lester's version) is pretty good given with fight between Zod and the other Zoners in Metropolis, but the movie is greatly weakened by the comedy stuff put in -like the Zoners' foray into some rube hick town. Superman 3? That went way off the deep end!

God the opening titles alone.

I believe the mind wipe kiss was Lester's idea yes...Singer seems to have ignored it in Superman Return in his vagueness about Lois knowing.

Jesus, he was a hack. .

Depends on the project. In Lester's defense, he made what are probably the best THREE MUSKETEERS movies ever. And his Beatles movies are classic, too. He also made The Bed-Sitting Room, Robin & Marian, and A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum. So I wouldn't call him a hack. He made a lot of great films.

But, yeah, I prefered Donner's take on SUPERMAN.

Clark has a Dick Tracy watch, did he get that from his Superman Crunch cereal? Tess has a sexy Librarian look this week, nice.(by the way i'm watching online, so i'm making my comments all as I watch) Work is interefering with watching in real time. Cat fight! Lois and Tess mud wrestling. I'm liking this ep., Welling actually is looking and acting like Superman in this one. I really liked Zod last year and I like him even better now.

Darth Zod: Join me and together we will rule the Phantom Zone.

This episode needs Star Trek fight music. Nice teaser to the cape. Overall, not a bad episode. I'm voting good, I think.
