Another Voyager 1st-time watch thread

Yeah, that part's funny, too.

But I don't like it as much as Chakoay phasering Kim for some reason. "Hi! How'ya doing?" BOOM.

There's not a lot of love between me and this episode. At all.

I did however love the scene where Chakotay hands the tampered phaser to Tuvok to shoot Janeway. And the movie scene at the end.

And I love the end with everyone in 3 D glasses.

(Do I have the right one?)

I also love the scene between Tuvok and Chakotay (I always love Marquis- Chakotay ;)).
But the end with the 3D glasses I hate very much. I hoped Janeway would prefer Chakotay to reconcile with him.

How can you not like? :) FULL OF WIN!...

Since Tuvok's the one who caused all of the trouble, I thought it was only appropriate.

I'm annoyed that they don't show her as being closer to Tuvok. After all, she's known him for 20 years, longer than anyone else on board, and he's the only person among the senior staff who she really chose to be with--everyone else was either thrust on her by happenstance or showed up along the way. When she was putting together her crew, Tuvok was the one about whom she said, "I trust his judgment. I need him with me." That's not always obvious in the show.

Also, I got through the first 10 minutes of "Critical Care" before falling asleep. It seemed OK enough, although a bit polemical.

I like how they can't pose a serious ethical question that's difficult to solve, like, if there are limited medical resources, who gets them? Instead, you've got one person dying and one person who's getting beauty treatments. Seems like they've stacked the deck.

I'll see how this resolves itself.

Funny that Gar is the Crypt Keeper. I knew I recognized his voice from somewhere.

You could say that they sort of dealt with that question already in "Latent Image," though.
