The updates are really outstanding. This is such an amazing resource for TrekLit fandom; very impressive.

It's some years since I read it, but didn't Gumbo in SNW 08 had a loose connection to the DS9 Relaunch?

Yeah, as I recall, it depicted Jake contemplating an action which was implicitly or explicitly the one he undertook at the end of Avatar, Book 2.

    Brilliant project, Turtletrekker. :bolian:

I hope you can get this in under the deadline as well, but Indistinguishable from Magic also references The Genesis Wave novels (at least Books 1 & 2) with regards to the Federation recovering from it and
the relationship with Leah Brahms and the death of her husband as a result of the Wave.

Turtletrekker, I noticed something that I don't think you caught: Despite now being listed as part of the 'primary core continuity' for DS9, ZSG is also still listed in the 'Connected' section.

^ I actually did notice that, and it was the first thing I put into my notes for the next update. Thanks.

No problem. BTW, I have some new suggestions for future updates:
    * The TNG novels Dead Zone (Maximum Warp #2) and The Battle of Betazed and The Lost Era novels The Art of the Impossible and Serpents Among the Ruins ought to be mentioned/listed somewhere in the DS9 section because they feature appearances/cameos by DS9-R characters (Tiris Jast in Dead Zone and Vaugn in TBoB, TAotI, and SAtR)

    * Mission Gamma: Lesser Evil and The Lost Era novel The Art of the Impossible ought to be mentioned/listed somewhere in the Vanguard section because they both feature or mention T'Prynn

I was also wondering if Ro's appearances in the TNG novel Rogue Saucer, the numbered DS9 novel Wrath of the Prophets, and the Dominion War miniseries novels were consistent with her characterization and post-Pre-emptive Strike character history as established by Avatar and the other books in the DS9-R, because if they are, they ought to be mentioned/listed somewhere in the DS9 section as well.

The Dominion War novels are not consistent with Avatar etc. As for the others, I don't recall any inconsistencies.

Another couple from me. :) I'm a quarter of the way into DTI: Watching the Clock and already I've found references to:
    • Christopher's own Orion's Hounds and an appearance by Riker, Troi and the USS Titan
    • References to the Orishan tesseract incident in Sword of Damocles
    • References to the Aegis, including the events of the TOS comic two-parter The Peacekeeper with rogue Aegis agents stealing a protomatter weapon. I'm sure reference to an interspatial parasite infestation on Benecia was a comic reference as well, but I can't place it at the moment.

The parasite infestation on Benecia doesn't come from any pre-existing work of Trek Lit. I wanted to work in at least an oblique reference to every time-travel episode of ST, and since ENT: "Twilight" was erased from history, leaving no way any character in the book could know about it, I decided to include mention of another interspatial parasite infestation so that at least something from that episode would get a nod.

I'm sure this is me just having a brain freeze, but what episode/book/comic has the story about the Defiant making several loops through time to retrieve crewmates, after seeing reality change around them? It's referenced in Chapter 3.

Past Tense, I think. Kira and O'Brien making several trips through time to find Sisko, Bashir and Dax? They realize something went screwy in time when they can't pick up any Federation signals in their present, only a Romulan transmission from Alpha Centauri, but they of course remember the "real" history.

Since the Errand of... books are included in this list, do they make any reference to The Janus Gate trilogy? I know those books were erased from time at the end, but do the characterizations of anyone continue into the Errand trilogies, or is it only the 'lower decks' concept that they build upon?

I do not believe that there was any crossover of characters or situations from Errand... to Janus...

Well, it'll be set in the Delta Quadrant, so it probably won't matter any one way or the other. But I would be surprised if it didn't overlap some with Rough Beasts of Empire, just because that novel encompasses so much time.
