I'll be watching it again later this week, but I have next to nothing negative to say about this week's episode - fantastic job. Maybe my only complaint would be Joffrey's acting, but since I've known they were doing this series, I was worried about the child actors and so far not even he's reached anywhere near the depths of awfulness I thought they could attain and he's the worst of the kids. Fantastic episode, can't wait for next week.

Liked it much better than the first episode. Had better pacing without forcing too many characters on the screen which gave more time to scenes and the characters in them.

Excellent, just excellent. Better than the first one. A lot more emotional punch, plus they are doing a good job of tying the Dothraki storyline to the other storylines.

They changed the opening credits, they're now showing Vaes Dothrak instead of Penthos.

The extra sweet stuff about the new version of the credits is how the camera panned back to Westeros from the Dothraki Sea, and you could almost see all of Westeros.

Putting the map inside of a globe was just a stroke of genius - if only for that shot. It really helps one to get familiarized with where they are. And the shot is of course very symbolic in how Ser Jorah and the Targaryans want to get back there.

Excellent episode, better than the first.
So, it looks like dreams and all sorts of flashbacks are gone from the series.

As to the guy playing Joffrey - he's supposed to be a rich spoiled crazy brat. He's like that (or even worse) in the books. This guy plays him adequately.

I liked this episode, but I don't love this series yet. It still is a slow burn for me. I enjoyed the scenes with the prince and the Stark girls and all that the best. The Dothraki storyline was a bit too incidental here for me this week, though I wouldn't have minded seeing more of the tricks the Tangarean princess had learned. Sean Bean is a welcome presence, but still a bit too stoic.

Thank you for that statement of the obvious.

His performance is lacking and has nothing to do with the character he's playing.

I knew the blond people were evil, but now that they've caused the doggies to be hurt, I REALLY hate them!

Woof!

Oh - something that crossed my mind, now that I've seen Lena Heady act in at least three things (300, SCC, and this) - the girl has one note. She's pretty, but she doesn't seem to be much of an actress.

Tyrion is all kinds of awesome.

I thought it was a great episode. But man Joffrey is unwatchable. It's both the actor who isn't very good, and the character as written is an arrogant toe-rag.

Is there some kind of collection of animated gifs of whiny characters being smacked upside the head? Could add that to the gif...

Thinking of something like you have those 'reaction' gifs where you see lots of different characters yelling or screaming or freaking out.

I've few complaints. Another very good episode for a series I'm having far too much fun watching. I suppose I'm a little upset we haven't got to Littlefinger yet, but then we would have to speed over this material, wouldn't we?

I've got to disagree on Joffrey. I think Jack Gleeson is a great kid (biased much? ...yes), and I really think he's getting the cruel spoiled brat aspect of Joffrey across wonderfully.

Joffrey is the kind of kid with a pampered upbringing who in another life would be frying ants with magnifying glasses, but here he's fortunate enough to have live boys to toy with instead. That kind of posessive touching of Sansa's chin was a nice touch.

She was pretty turgid in 300, but I've really liked her so far as Cersei Lannister. It's the smile, I think. She's good at saying a lot with just a twitch of lip and some concerned looking eyes.

I think the actor who's really landing with a leaden thump for me is Kit Harrington as Jon Snow. He just comes across as a little dull and simple minded. Sure, he's bloody uncannily like Richard Madden, but Robb Stark always was a little uninteresting to me even in the books. Maybe Kit will grow into the role, I don't know.

The best characters so far imo are Tyrion and Arya by a mile, with Jon third - he hasn't shown as much personality yet, but his storyline is definately cool.

Incidentally, these are by far my favorite characters in the book as well. I wouldn't imagine ASOIAF story without these folks ;)
