Usually reviews start appearing about a week before the official sale date, so let's get this going.

It's been two years since the last New Frontier novel; definitely a long long wait. The cliffhanger at the end of Treason still has my curiosity piqued though, and NF has rarely disappointed in the past.

This will be the first Trek book I've bought since...well, the last New Frontier book. Can't wait! With the Aussie dollar soaring against the US dollar, it's a bargain, too.

well I stopped in my barnes and noble just to look around and picked a dvd. I went over to sci-fi section just to see what is out for star trek in physical form and noticed
blind man's bluff is out. so for those who are reading physical copies it's out now. I have to wait till tuesday for my nook but that's cool. I plan to read the entire series
from book 1 to blind man's bluff this summer.

also if you're wondering what dvd I got I picked season one of :

Odd - DTI is on Amazon.co.uk Kindle store (I preordered it a week or so ago, so it'll be on its way to me in the next day or so).

Blind Man's Bluff is nowhere to be seen :/ Well, it's actually due for paperback release in the UK on 2 May, but no sign of Kindlestuff.

It's quite normal for trades to be slower turning up than MMPBs. And the UK site is inaccurately calling it a MMPB.

    Slight spolier:

What year does Blind Man's Bluff take place in? In the begining of the book, it says that Auntie Anne would have nightmares about Seven being assimilated by the Borg but thankfully that was no longer a possibilty. This suggests that this book takes place after Destiny...

I'm fairly sure it's following the tradition of the previous "New Frontier" novel in PAD's contract. NF moved from a hardcover series to a trade paperback series with "Treason", when Pocket essentially abandoned the ST hardcover program. The new trade has the Gallery imprint.

Did you buy "Treason" as a trade or the reprint MMPB? Why not read it now in trade, then buy the MMPB and sell the trade on eBay or give it to a friend?

Sadly, I did buy it as a trade - it's a neat little row until the hardcover Missing in Action and the trade Treason. Then again, they changed the spine design every few books, so it's not like it matches up all that well anyway.

My library has unfortunately stopped buying Trek books, and I don't know anyone who watches Trek, let alone reads it.

I think I'll just reorder my bookcase so that the last few New Frontier books transition into the big compendiums...

Then again, on checking at Booko.com.au, perhaps I should wait. The cheapest I can get the trade is $15, while I can get the MMPB for under $6 if I wait a few months.

I seem to recall you saying that when "Treason" came out. I gave you links to the still active ST clubs in Victoria.

Which, if this is truly the last NF, finishes off your collection with a single MMPB standing next to a trade?

With the Aussie dollar doing as well as it is, a trade copy of "Blind Man's Buff" will work out a lot cheaper than the trade of "Treason".

I am a member of the Austrek fan club (well, I will be when they process my renewal), and already have a pile of 20-odd books which has been sitting around for 18 months for me to attend a meeting... :\

I was being somewhat facetious about the size of the book (the hardcover Missing in Action already made a mess of things anyway), and the price is more the principle of the thing.

I probably will grab the trade just to show support for the series. It would be sad if it were the last.
