STXII news: Kirk love interest, first draft of script done.

Exactly. Unless it comes directly from Trekmovie's website, it's just a rumor. :D
Seriously, though, that's not a bad yardstick to be using. TrekMovie was really good the last time around about verifying stuff before they put it online, and on the few occasions where they got caught out giving inaccurate info, they were always quick to own up to it and say "Okay, we were wrong about this."

Yep. They've got a really good track record. Plus, the founder of the site is a devout Trek fan, who is going to pore over every tidbit to make certain it's legitimate. Yeah, everyone makes mistakes but, overall, I think we're in good hands.

All I know is--it's about time Kirk actually gets the girl in the JJ-verse! Who did he get in Trek XI?

An Orion woman who interrupted him before he could explain what he meant when he begins, "Y'know, that is so wierd..."

(I mean--maybe he was saying, "Y'know, that is so wierd...because I was going to say the exact same thing to you.")

That is so weird...because it actually makes sense that he was about to say that!

I mean, there are many ways he could have started, "uh I don't really love you, you know..." but "weird" isn't one of them. It's not weird to not be in love with some random one night stand. But if you are, that is weird.

Weird.

A play on The Enemy Within, Kirk's love interest will be Kirk.

The ultimate slash story.

Weird.

What was also weird was...that Gaia took it to mean the exact opposite.

I remember that scene, and my first thought was that Kirk was going to finish the sentence by saying he loved her, and that it was weird because he probably never imagined himself saying that to anyone.

Defensiveness. Orion gals don't like committments. ;)

Not politically correct! Fight the urge to stereotype... Orion women are people, too!:rommie:

^Ah, Sector 7, ye of the ironic honesty. Sadly, that may be the case. PC seems to be what IDIC's all about....

I think Gaila was a typical Orion female looking to own males. Why else would she have told Kirk that she promised to stop bringing guys back to the room? And then she brought a guy back to the room.

I'd like to see Gaila in the next movie, but she won't be Kirk's "love" interest. He buggered that one.

Orions don't work like hew-mons do! It's not bigoted or PC (or both, if that's possible) to acknowledge that. :rommie:

I hope Gaila is back, too. Just because it's fun to see minor but recurring characters.

They did say Khan might be back in some form. They're just pulling a Starbuck on us and casting an actress as Khan.

Hmm...except the entire nuTrek is based on the premise that Nero changed the timeline, beginning with the attack on the Kelvin.

Khan was out conquering the Earth before that. Therefore...he's not changing.

Hmm...but perhaps the Botany Bay suffers something in this new timeline, and Khan dies in stasis. One of his female subordinates we saw in the ep could thus be the archvillainess....

(Angelina Jolie, anyone?)
