I passed my Compass Test for Chattahoochee Technical College

KJbushway

Commodore
Thanks to the people who gave me online math tutoring advice. I took it and within 2 hours I finished, got my scores and they were surprisingly high. I am going for the CIS[Computer Information Systems] diploma and I had to meet the following test score requirements:
Reading- a score of 70. My score = 75
Writing Skills- a score of 38. My score = 70 (This score probably surprises A LOT of people here)
Now in this category, because of my choice of diploma I came up short in just one area.
Math- Pre-Algebra- a score of 39. My score = 64
Algebra- a score of 48. My score = 18
I have to take a remedial math because of my poor test result on Algebra.
Had I chosen a different course, all I would have needed was a pre-algebra score of at least 38. So I did better than I thought.
So now all I need is to setup my classes, buy or rent my books, and I will be a college student. :)

^I heard that from people when I lived in St. Louis. I grew up in North Georgia, and am quite familiar with "The 'Hooch".

^ yeah I live in paulding though the actually Chattahoochee college where I will be learning the actual computer stuff is is marrietta. I am just getting my beginners classes done here.

Congrats, Dude! I went to the Paulding Chatt Tech campus way back in the day, and went to the Marietta campus back when it was still North Metro Tech.

It good to know there are other folks on here from my neck of the woods. I have always lived in Kennesaw and Marietta. I know one of my friends is on here. He introduced me to this board. He lives around here too. Thought we were the only ones.

Good luck in college because i will be going too college in about a year and a half. I will be going to college in North Carolina. To Universal Technical Institute for Automobiles.

Why North Carolina?
The Marrietta campus at chattahoochee tech has an automotive program and its cheap, but good education.

Don't know why. The test was about correcting mistakes on other people's essays. I have trouble correcting my own. I actually write like a girl, my cursive is impressive, and my only problem on paper is run-on sentences.

I don't really understand all these technical terms...

Are you trying to say that you know how to work a compass?

Ha! I always think that too. Live in Kennesaw, but posting from Marietta at this moment. :)

Where were you people when I was growing up? I thought I was the one, lone Trekkie in GA!

I live in Kennesaw right now. My buddy who is also on here lives right down the street from me. Now there are three known Kennesaw folks on here

I can guarantee you that you aren't (weren't?) the only one. Especially when I was at Georgia Tech (92-97). When DS9 premiered during my freshman year, it seems the entire dorm was in the TV room that night. And pretty much the entire Tech band was made up of Trekkies too.

Funny story, actually. The night of the TNG finale, we had a previously scheduled band-related event, so everyone had their VCRs set to record it. For part of the night, we had taken over Bennigan's for dinner. At one point, there was an inexplicable lull in the noise of the restaurant, and we all heard the TNG commercial bump music coming from the bar TVs. All of us instantly picked up our menus and started reading it out loud, just so we wouldn't get spoiled!
