It's just funny as someone who lives in Vancouver as I do to see it depicted as other famous cities (fictional or otherwise) to see our famous landmarks. I'm sure it's that way for others with their city.

There was a great moment on THE 4400 (set in Seattle, filmed in Vancouver) when our heroes had to track down a fugitive . . . in Vancouver.

"So, you up to a trip to Vancouver?"

And, of course, there was that recent SUPERNATURAL ep when the brothers broke the fourth wall and found themselves . . . in Vancouver.

Then of course there is The Killing, set in Seattle shot in Vancouver. It doesn't rain that bad in here as it does on the show. I've only been to Vancouver once where it pretty much rained how it's seen on the show, the whole trip. You guys are giving us a bad reputation, haha!

Little late to the game here but I thought I'd comment on Tess's outstanding wardrobe in this episode. I watched this one with my wife and when Tess came out in that dress my wife said "Her jugs look awesome!".

Thought it was pretty well established in the comics that Metropolis was NYC, Gotham was Chicago, and Star City was LA, all give or take...?
Actually, Gotham has always been NY. There were a couple of times, in the very early Detective Comics, before it was given it's own name, where Batman's city is referred to as New York and/or Manhattan.

I'm surprised no one has posted any screenshots of it yet.

I've had a pet theory for where Metropolis in the comics is for a while that is different than most. Imagine if early American history went a little differently. The southern most part of Ontario, which is surrounded by the Great Lakes, is part of the United States. So that where Toronto exists in our world is Metropolis. Superman creator Joe Shuster was born there too.

Agreed. They are way overdoing the rain on THE KILLING. Seattle rain is a perpetual gray drizzle, not the endless downpours they keep showing on the show.

I never owned an umbrella in all the years I lived in Seattle, but bought my first one after to moving to NYC.

As someone who lost his father at a young age, I really felt for Clark being pulled away at the last moment there from Jonathan. It may not have been his father in truth, but it was really damn close, and I can imagine how painful it would be to get ripped away from the likely last ever chance to embrace that physical presence and all the memories associated.

Good episode. Very good. Liked the ending too.

I finally saw this episode after suffering a ton of comercials. I liked it, I liked the interaction with Johnathan. I though it was dumb that Clark automatically assumed that Martha wanted him to sell the house. He's been comuting to Metropolis for quite some time, how hard is it to have an apartment in Motropolis and maintain the farm in his spare time? I like how Welling plays AU Clark, it's not so bad. I loved Tess' dress, this seems to be the highlight of the episode. It was nice to see the Fortress again, but i'm disapointed that this episode did absolutely nothing to further the story along. Still no flights, no tights. I was hoping they would not wait til the last minute to have him at least fly, but I guess they are really going to tease us all the way to the end. They blew a great oprotunity to make this season really good, but oh well. At this point, I just want to get it over with. I voted Superman because despite it's flaws, I still liked this one, I guess most of my vote goes to Tess' boobs.

It does rain here a lot.

I caught a brief glimpse of "Airwolf" season 4 when they moved to Canada. The first scene I see is someone speaking French and it was raining.

Since I knew they filmed in Canada I kep thinking

"Couldn't get more Canadian than that"

Oh wait they hire Geraint Wyn Davies!!!

If you ever saw a show in the 90's and it had him you knew Canada was involved somehow.

Now days you can recognize half of the Battlestar Galactica cast who are Canadian on shows that film in Canada -- Tigh, Cally, Chief, Helo, Gaeta, Tory, Racetrack, Cottle, Kelly, Jammer... and the new Geraint Wyn Davies is Callum Keith Rennie. :)

Ahhh. Tess' boobs. Mmmmmm.

Metropolis has been moved all over the place...

Like many of DC's other fictional cities, the location of Metropolis has varied greatly over the years. Metropolis is usually portrayed as a major city in the Midwest, or conversely, on the East Coast, and even the West Coast.

Longtime Batman writer and editor Dennis O'Neil also said figuratively that Metropolis is New York above 14th Street on a warm spring day, and that Gotham City is New York below 14th Street on a cold, rainy autumn night.
I've always liked that idea...
