Skynet is online! We die in two days!

Ethros

So we survived the August 29 1997 date from Terminator 2, we survived the July 25 2004 date from Terminator 3, perhaps now it will be third time lucky?

From The Sarah Connor Chronicles-
Cameron- "The Skynet missile defense system goes online April 19, 2011. Declares war on mankind and triggers a nuclear apocalypse two days later."

Eep. I better get building that fallout shelter!

I mention this now as funnily enough I started rewatching TSCC on DVD only a couple of days ago, having not seen it since it first aired. And was most amused with how close their Judgement Day was to when I was watching it.

I guess if the show hadn't been cancelled it's would have just finished its fourth season, and presumably would have dealt with this.
Shame

Well apparently Skynet's predecessor Watson is running Jeopardy exhibition games against past winners.

What's really kind of funny about this is that in two days, SyFy will be airin' a four-episode block of first season Terminator: TSCC episodes...

Actually six episodes, starting Thursday at 7 PM. They showed the first two episodes on the 7th, the next four on the 14th, and now the next six will be on the 21st, with another six on the 28th.

I guess cable networks are increasingly scheduling for DVRs. Rather than dole out episodes at a reasonable pace, they just burn them off in huge blocks and assume people will record them and watch them later.

Six episodes?!? Shit...I actually watch through 'em, but six is just too many to sit through at once.

And why would they be doing that? They make no money from DVRs.

cable networks for years have shown several hours of the same show in a row, this is nothing new.

They could have gone through with the war or delayed it.

I remember some people here joking

"April 19th 2011? What happens when they reach that date?"

"Don't worry, the show won't last that long ;)"

Ah, another great date in sf lore. It's beautiful weather here, just right for a nuclear apocalypse. I guess we should eat all those Easter eggs now since we aren't going to make it to the weekend!

It looks like the entire series is available to 'Watch Instantly' on Netflix.

ah, but by killing Andy Goode Derek changed J-Day's date, and later, by sending Fisher back to upload SKYNet changed it again, so we don't know the J-day date for the last TSCC timethread

So... we're still here? No nuclear war? No genocidal robots?

I still have to grade papers?

:(
