A-Team movie

I went to the movie because I'm a big Liam Neeson fan and was very pleasantly surprised. As ridiculous as some of the stuff was, it was a movie that I came out of and just had fun with. It was one of those movies that I saw multiple times in theaters and then picked up on Blu-Ray (possibly my second Blu-Ray purchase ever). The extended cut was leaps and bounds better than the theatrical cut as well. Where the normal "extended cut" is just an excuse to show more guts and tits, The A-Team's extended cut actually had some worthwhile material in it.

if you have a problem with a flying tank, you have a fundamental problem with modern cinema

- Joe Carnahan

And the A Team as a whole. I loved this movie, I thought it fit well with the show. That scene was over the top, but compared to the show it was on par. I don't have a problem with this movie, it was very cool and I speak as a fan of the original who was scrptical of this movie at first. This Is what I'd expect from a movie adaption of a tv. series.

I got a big kick out of that scene. It was like the "Nuke the fridge" sequence in Indy IV. It was just so ridiculous, so gleefully over-the-top that it was impossible not to crack a smile and just enjoy the whole demented thing.

I enjoyed "A-Team". I happened to watch it the other night. It wasn't amazing, but it kept me entertained. The cast was terrific (although I thought Jessica Biel was kind of wasted in a bland, thankless role).

Except the fridge-nuking thing was just really, really absurd, didn't flow and just felt out of place. Somehow the story and the direction of things made the tank-drop work.

They're really polar opposites on how to do an over-the-top action scene "right."

Fantastic movie and I'd love to have the DVD, but I refuse to buy it as the R2 DVD is the cut-for-a-12-rating cinema version, and the uncut is only on Blu-Ray. (I don't mean just that the BD is an extended cut - the UK theatrical cut is censored from the US theatrical cut, removing what "AMF" stands for, .

I have the region 2 DVD and the meaning of AMF is still in their. The word fucker is kind of muted out but that didn't bother me cos it was the same as the cinema.

Yeah, that's what I mean - in the DVD it's all muted as per the cinema, but Blu Ray is clear and uncut

Except that I was stating my opinion about the sort of vein I accepted "A-Team's" tank scene in.

I wasn't trying to start another thing about Indy IV. I was just trying to relate the tank scene to another over-the-top action scene I enjoyed. I thought they were both a great deal of fun.

Unless I missed something, it's still muted out in America on Blu, as well. The 'unrated extended cut' is still very much a PG-13 movie. It's obvious what the F stands for, but you don't actually hear them say "fucker".
