First Contact Theme (Piano)

The First Contact theme is my favourite, but I was a little disappointed with this rendition. The arrangement was good, but the performance was too slow and lacked the dynamics and buildup of the original. It was too anemic for me.

 

[Too Much Fun]

This video lead me to a few Youtube renditions of Star Trek themes on Mario Paint. I'm generally not a huge fan of content created by Youtube users (I'd rather watch old TV shows or music videos on it most of the time), but I love when people do neat stuff like that.

Someone had a great version of "The Office" theme song on there a few years back, but it's gone now. I liked the Mario Paint versions of the TNG and DS9 themes that I found, but I wish someone would tackle the "Star Trek: First Contact" theme on Mario Paint. It's my favourite Star Trek theme. I like it more than any of the other TV series or movie theme songs.

First Contact, IMHO, was Goldsmith's crowning achievement. He continued to work for 6 years after words, and scored INS and NEM, but the score to FC was his last, best work. A good career capper, IMHO. I miss good Trek music. There hasn't been much of it in the last 15 years or so.

The First Contact theme is my favourite, although as a complete soundtrack to listen to beginning to end, I think I might *slightly* prefer the INS soundtrack.
I haven't watched INS in a while though, so I don't know how well it works in movie, but the FC soundtrack really elevates that movie so well.

I hear ya; it sounds rather better sped up somewhat... which can be done, if one has the tools...

I agree and i also liked his insurrection stuff, baku village was my fav.
