She is 12 years old, so I am hoping she still has a few good years in her yet. I think the average age for an indoor cat is about 15 with some living to 20 or even more.

My cat lived to 18 years. Also, when he was 11 he had to have a lot of teeth removed, so also an anaesthetic--but he was fine. The vet had tested his blood before considering the operation and the anaesthetic, though.

I hope that MC is going to be fine and it's nothing serious. I am sure you worry. I have a three-legged cat too and I know how crazy I get when there's even a tiny problem with his health.

My grandmother's cat lived to be 21, and she was an indoor cat. So Miss. C might well have many years ahead of her . I hope she's just having a temporary rough patch; I wish her well.

She had it for a couple of days and then it went away, never to return. The vets thought it was a brain tumor, but obviously, it turned out not to be. Keeping fingers crossed for you both!

What is the treatment if it's an injury, rather than an infection?

I am not sure. I was quite upset when talking to the vet and I think most of the questions I asked were about brain tumours and about the x-rays.

Hopefully it's just something that will heal by itself. How is she doing now?

Yrah, 12 years is still 'young' for a cat. I have two Tuxedo cats (Brothers from the same litter) that age - and honestly they still run around with the energy of kittens most days.

I hope it doesn't turn out to be anything serious and your cat has a speedy recovery.

She still has a good appetite but has spent most of the day sleeping in the cat carrier. She has only had two antibiotic tablets so far (last night and this morning). She is still wobbly on her feet but i don't think she is a bad as she was yesterday but that might just be wishful thinking on my part.

My cat had two tumors, kidney and liver, most likely, she was 18 and I didn't care. She lived 16 months after the lump was found, and just died when her whole body just failed her, and was pretty quick. However a brain tumor I would think is incredibly rare, sounds like ear issues.

Cats live a long time if you pay attention to them. My cat was 18 3/4 when she died, was sick with something that made it so she would eat all the time and never gain weight. However we just gave her pills (gods help me, no matter how sick a cat is they will kill you before letting them give you a pill) four times in 2-3 years and she was happy up until the day before she died. Cat pills work amazingly well.

I'm hoping for the best! We had a terrible scare at the start of the year with our 12-year-old. She had a stroke and we really thought we were gonna lose her, but she recovered and is back to her old self again. Thankfully.
