Soooo...Lexx...any opinions?

Whatever you say . . . Staaaan.

I love how dumb Lexx is even though it's the most powerful destructive force in the two universes.

also, did anyone notice the similarities between Lexx season 3 and Andromeda season 5?
in both, the ships end up stuck around a desert planet

The Complete Lexx is coming out on UK Region 2 DVD tomorrow

Amazon

If it was under £20, I'd probably get it, but nearly £50? Nah.

What I remember of Lexx was that it was incredibly uneven gothic kinky melodrama. When it worked, the lulz were awesome. When it failed, it was really, really bad. I never committed to watching it regularly though (IIRC it was on at some very late and very variable timeslot when it aired here), so I'd like to see the whole thing through once. Maybe when the price comes down. I do remember there were some hot chicks on it, too.

Lexx was a good series I remember when the Sci-Fi Channel (back when they aired science fiction) had this Farscape, and the Invisible Man what a line up! I wish somebody would re-release the DVDs in R1 the show is also available on Hulu.com.

Hulu is probably the censored version, but Netflix is probably the real deal.

Just how much sex and nudity is in Lexx? I don't have any issues with it, I'm just curious how much I'd miss if I watched the censored version.

For all the talk, there really isn't much more than innuendo, and a side breast shot here and there, at most.

Yeah, for the most part I never understood why they bothered to censor them. I think there's actual nudity in only two or three episodes. The uncensored episodes are only moderately more risque, but uncensored is a matter of principle with me. :rommie:

Me too. The idea of something being cut bothers me, whether it's for content, or just to make it shorter. That's why I don't watch movies on TV, even if they are only PG or G, because they still cut stuff out for the commercials.

I'm watching Lexx for the first time, and I love it. :) I'm watching it on Netflix streaming, and am in the middle of season two. Yes, I do love weird for weird's sake. :D

As far as nudity goes, on Netflix, Zev's shower wasn't cut, but re-framed so her naughty bits weren't shown, the uncensored version is on youtube, but Bunny's shower in Wake the Dead was completely unmodified.

Censoring Lexx just seems like the most pointless, counterintuitive excerise imaginable.

Ignoring that the title spaceship is designed to look like a penis*, the series is pretty big on the sex stuff. What exactly is the point of censored Lexx? Who on earth is the audience who wants to watch a filthy-minded program cleaned up a little?

*Along with other things, I believe one of the shower-nozzles.

I think you'll really enjoy season 3 - all I'll say is that it's a heavily serialized arc, and is rather wonderful. Definitely the highpoint of the show for me.

The Lexx wasn't designed to look like a penis, it was designed to look like a butterfly without wings. It was designed by the last of a race of giant insects.

I always loved Lexx but it really went down hill in the forth season and doomed it's self. The second season was wacky and unpredictable while the 3rd season was more artistist and arc based. I too have been revisiting the episodes on Netflix after not seeing them for almost 10 years.
