Meh, this was nothing extraordinary. I voted 'Average'.

Yup, looks like we're going into Inception territory in 3 weeks.

I thought they were gonna kill Fauxlivia for a second there! Don't know how she is gonna raise a kid while working... probably gonna ship him off to grandma's house.

I'm not really surprised that Walternate was behind the kidnapping... half expected it. Of course, you would think he could have accomplished the same thing (whatever that is) if he had just told Fauxlivia what he wanted to do.

I thought it was a pretty good episode. Nothing utterly amazing, but still quite enjoyable. I'm glad they brought back Henry (he was cab driver, right?). I'm hoping he sticks around as a recurring character.
So is Walternate hoping he can use Peter and Fauxlivia's son to run The Machine? That's certainly the impression I got.

Good episode. I thought it make Fauxlivia more likeable. I wonder what they will name the baby? Peter Jr?

Also... RENEWED! :techman:

Three assumptions shot down tonight:

-I thought Fauxlivia would die

-The way the cab driver was looking at Fauxlivia's baby coming out I thought the baby would have a tail.

-The baby would mature to a 30 year old man that looked like Peter.

-Fauxlivia's mom looked like she was in on something.

"Can I tag along?"

I thought this was more of an advancing the plot episode. It's bit of a let down case wise than anythinge else. Of course I have to stop reading episode reviews immediately after I watch it.

The best small bit was the taxi-driver. That really made it swell. Then there was the huge let down that the taxi driver didn't know this Olivia... and that was probably the end of his story. It was those little things that made the episode good.

I too wondered if this was an attempt to get someone other than Peter to run the machine.

Remember when The Observor said "its must be hard" to Peter or something along those lines. Why do I think hes going to end up in machine to save his kid or something.

Great episode, I really enjoyed it.

The birth scene was my favorite -- very touching, the way Lincoln was holding Fauxlivia and tearing up over her. "I love you." Awww. He's really growing on me.

Enjoyed seeing Henry again, and interesting that Henry clued in the guys about the alternate universe and Olivia Prime. It appears they're going the Broyles way and will soon be in conflict with Walternate.

I figured Brandonate was behind the kidnapping, actually -- he is such an ambitious, creepy little weasel, it's right up his alley. To find out Walternate is still pulling the strings isn't a surprise, but I wouldn't be surprised if Brandonate still does some shenanigans on his own to surprise and please his boss.

I agree that the child must be a way to power the machine. Why else would Walnernate not be able to wait another 6 months? I'm assuming he can recalibrate the machine for Junior... which would mean Fauxlivia vs. Walternate at some point. What if the love rectangle (whoever said that upthread, it's priceless :techman: ) ends up teaming up to thwart Walternate and Dr. FrankenBrandon in order to save the baby?

I know some people don't like alt-Astrid, but I think her "Rainman" echoes are great.

And yay, Season 4!

Awesome episode. That's two winners in a row, although this week's was definitely stronger than last weeks. I think every single Alt universe episode so far has been at least good if not outright excellent. Some of that has to do with Linkin.........he's been a great addition to the cast and hopefully he sticks around in both universes. Between these last two episodes being so good and the news that Fringe gets a full season 4 pickup, it's been a pretty nice run for Fringe lately.

9.1/10

They could either clone the baby from the blood sample and mature it to adulthood. It would not surprise me if the son worked with our Fringe team

Peter- He's........my son

I had forgotten that. You may very well be right.

Especially since Peter emphatically stated that there was no way he’d ever get into the machine. Uh-huh. He’d do it to save his kid. And since it’s as a sacrifice, the machine does not destroy. One of those “not life-OR-death” but “life-AND-death” things--there’s a choice to kill or not, depending on the controller.

Yeh the Alt. Universe episodes have been wonderful this season and there more advanced tech helps push a story too.

I like that they are humanizing Walternate this season. Maybe there is hope that the two universes can coexist.

Still think he's humanized?
Yes I do. The first thing Walter Bishop would do when he found out Olivia was carrying his grandchild would be to check her medical history. He finds her sister and the baby died of the virus, he hatches a plan to make sure his grandson lives. He also made sure that the blood on record was not the babys actual blood to keep his lineage guarded.
