ECH: Emergency Comedic Hologram, or: how funny Robert Picardo is.

PS. I'm watching it right now, I had forgotten what amusing haircuts Tom Paris and Harry Kim had back then!

This is hilarious! I had forgotten about it, tonight I'll watch the episode again! (I of course possess all the seasons of all five series.)

The Doctor was so grumpy in the early episodes, constantly annoyed at being disregarded by the other crewmembers. Just love it.

Glad I could be of service.

Enjoy! :bolian:

Yes the doctor was incredibly curt and abrasive which was funny.. and when he grew out of that he was incredibly biting and witty which was also funny. The character was always at a high, never slumped into disuse or irrelevance.

I agree, one of the best characters in all five series.

Glad I could be of service.

Enjoy! :bolian:
Just did it, excellent episode :)

He's definitely one of the best. He makes me wish that Trek was a musical!
I'm watching 6x13 'Virtuoso' now, probably the only musical episode in Trek history: Picardo is a great singer too!

PS. Those references he makes to Giuseppe Verdi, Teatro della Scala and Neapolitan ballad make me feel rarely proud of being Italian :) I wish there were an Italian-American or Italian character on Star Trek, but this is another matter.
