Actually cosplaying isn't just anime; it's just that anime is the most well known aspect of it, because people like to go to Japanese anime conventions and ogle all the sexy ladies wearing outfits that would probably violate public decency laws in almost any other setting. People who dress up at Trek conventions are cosplaying too.

It's a lot of fun. I wanted to go to Chicago Trek 2011 this year, but I'm saving my money toward my business. Anyway, it was so much fun, and so many people wearing costumes, some of them were amazingly well done personal projects, and I was just impressed by the skill of those people. I'll rummage through my convention pics and see if I can find something.

the last three were taken at starfest. the last pic ( the 2 cat girls & the vampire girl are from Dark Stalkers) were taken at starfest 2009 i think.

Yes - Nothing better than a hot chick in a slinky costume.

No - Nothing worse than a not-a-chick in a slinky costume.

Choose which one you are and follow it.

Reminds me of the time I was at a con, and Bruce Campbell was the speaker. There was a Xena in the audience, who had their hand raised. Bruce looks out. "Yes, Xena?"

Xena stands up, and with a complete MANS voice (being a dude) starts to ask the question. Bruce is a little taken aback, and interrupts: "Xena.... warrior prince! .... ess."

hmmmmm 43 posts in a cosplay thread until the allmighty multi-pass makes an appearance...this BBS is behind the curve

Hot, if on a purely surface level (presumably). If they're just baseline dudes, it's top notch drag queening.

We need pics of the OP dressed as Sailor Moon. But everyone be nice, this isn't hot or not. People who dress up have my kudos regardless of how much it suits their body type or gender.

Is Sailor Moon something you identify with and admire, Cmdr Shepard?
Yes.
I'm with the ups - partly because of the above but partly because of Ar-Pharazon's post. :)

Are you an 8-foot-tall woman with legs longer than your entire torso? Yes.

Are you an overweight middle-aged man?

No.

Your wish is granted. Also, I knew this guy, he was quite fond of Indian food.
