Thanks for the responses!

Thus far Edmund's my favorite character, especially in Prince Caspian.

Including Tilda in Dawn Treader not only felt like a reach to me, but a cheap one, as though TPTB felt the movie couldn't stand without throwing her in again...somewhat akin to how the TNG Trek films always included Worf.

I thought it was cheap and forced inclusion of her character even though it was a construct of Edmund's psyche. Or at least that is how I interpreted it, not to mention the fact that I felt like that part of his conflict was resolved when he confronted her in the last movie. It was obvious that she's always been a bit of a weakness for him :)

Yeah, I can understand why people had reservations about that. I think though, they wanted to have a case of the familiar. It's the same deal with Lucy seeing herself as Susan.

Dawn Treader has continued to inch up each week, both domestically and internationally. It's now at $276.3 million international and just over $103 million domestic, for a worldwide take of over $379 million. It'll be released in Japan on Friday the 25th February. The final Japanese tally will definitely put it over the $278 million international that Prince Caspian made and should put it over $400 million worldwide.

I prefer Jill to Lucy. Jill seems like an actual human girl, while Lucy strikes me as a bit of a Little Miss Always-Right.

Her inclusion in VOTDT is what sealed the idea in my mind that they want her to be the main villain in The Silver Chair - not to mention the fact that she's associated with GREEN smoke in VOTDT.

Even if she was only included for the sake of having something familiar, I can't see it. They already had Lucy, Edmund, Caspian, Reepicheep, Aslan and Peter and Susan in cameos. Why would they need another familiar face unless it was to keep audiences primed to see her as the over-arcing villain of the whole series?

The climb to $400m world wide continues for Voyage of the Dawn Treader. The current ww total stands at $388m for Narnia 3 and domestically it's just shy $104m now. Should officially be there with Monday actuals released on Tuesday.

The DVD release is only 4 weeks away!!

Narnia fans and/or Voyage of the Dawn Treader fans the movie has arrived at $400m worldwide as of last weekend.

The movie is now just $19m worldwide shy of Prince Caspians haul and on a smaller budget. This plus the fact that VOTDT was Fox's only $100m+ domestic movie for 2010 has to bode well for serious sequel consideration. Surely the news posted up thread was evident of that even before it hit $400m!!

I'm pretty sure that we'll get an announcement for "The Silver Chair" or "The Magician's Nephew" soon after this news. It's clear the franchise is still a money maker.

Very good news. I'm still really hoping for The Silver Chair. They left us hanging with the hint about Jill Pole, dangit!

The movie might have made money, but who is to say how much? Look at The Last Airbender, it "made" 325 million dollars but because of money spent on ads it didn't really make any money.

Good news. I avoided this movie only because I didn't want to go through the disappointment of a cancelled series...

Bleh. Nothing wrong with Nephew per se, but I was really hoping they would do the Silver Chair.

On the other hand, since they seem to bring Tilda Swinton back for each fim, they wouldn't have to artificially shoehorn the White Witch into this one. And Charn would be pretty cool to see on the big screen....

I know everyone was wanting "The Silver Chair"...my brother will be disappointed as well, but I'm excited about "The Magician's Nephew" if only for Tilda being back.
