On the border of Illinois and Iowa. We have lots of bars, but most of them are small and full of gross townies. We don't really have anything I would consider a nightclub.

I see you and RAMA are both from Jersey. Actually, the one time I was out east, my buddy and I went out and were amazed at how attractive the girls were compared to back home.

You should see Tempe, AZ then. The sidewalks at ASU was like being at Baywatch, without the water.

Yeah, I'm really not living in the ideal place to pick up women...unless I want to pick up a dirty white trash woman with a deadbeat babydaddy who refuses to pay his child support.

Bathroom counters aren't bad either. *polite cough*

Engaged for me, miraculously enough. Getting married next month on the beach in Hawaii... :techman:

I just realized that I hadnt posted here in quite some time, and was thinking of making an announcement and I guess this thread is a good a place as any. Last month I asked my beautiful girlfriend of 2 years to marry me while we were standing on the field of AT&T Park. The date is set for April 14 2012. :-)

Congrats, Sir Flux!! I asked my Little Lady at the top of the Pt. Arena Lighthouse, last stop before Hawaii on the California shoreline.

With her being a hula dancer and myself being a Coastie -- it seemed appropriate. Even if I did totally flummox it by being tongue-tied a half dozen ways past Sunday. :)

Cheers,

Cool. Me? Georgetown- the only place in DC outside of the White House that has been shown on the movies and TV ;)

Thanks guys! While I don't think we can swing (ha!) a wedding at the Park, we do want to have a baseball themed wedding. I already have invitations in the form of baseball game tickets and there will be plenty of black and orange in the color scheme.

The way I did it was pretty unique if I do say so myself. My cousin came with us to the Giants' annual Fan Fest which is how we got onto the field. We just told my fiancee that we were going to take a picture of us in front of the scoreboard before we left. I dug through my bag and pulled out a baseball and handed it to her. She was really confused as to why she needed to hold a ball for the picture...when she read what was written on it. The question. And when she took her eyes off of the ball (ha!) she saw me striking the pose with the ring. Here's the video my cousin took when she was pretending to take a picture.
