Oh my God, did Olivia kill that little boy?

Sure hope that wasn't this side's Lincoln. If that was Lincoln, there is at least symmetry there. Lincoln on the other side got burned too.

Not Lincoln, but Nick. Fortunately, she didn't really kill him.

I'm guessing Peter finds Olivia.

Ive been thinking. I'm okay with neither Peter or Olivia remembering these events. Clearly, the memories of all of these children had to be altered by hypnotic suggestion. We've seen Walter do that before. Maybe the red- green alternating lights hypnogogic state is Walters invention.

God, I actually remember that. I'm old....

Interesting, I thought that too but thought it was just me.

Did they film this episode in 3D? It almost looks like the camera is cross-eyed.

Believe it or not that crossed my mind as well! It's probably just meant to cause a feeling of disorientation, I'm not sure but it almost seems to be getting stronger.

Maybe the scene was post-processed using both red and blue filters and overlaid. That would both produce the fuzzy look and fit the theme of the show - that of Peter (red world) and Olivia (blue world).

Not that this really has to do with this episode, but does anyone else wonder why we haven't seen Nina in the alt-verse? I find it particularly interesting that she's absent in the present, and no one has even mentioned her name.

I can definitely see how the Elizabeth in this universe ended up killing herself over the guilt. I can't even begin to imagine what that would be like.

Above average-nowhere as excellent as "Peter" and not as great as I had thought it might be. For some reason it just didn't hit the right emotional notes as it was wanting to.

The episode felt like there was a lot of padding with not much really going on even when we thought there was suppose to be. For a supposedly key mythology episode it really didn't deliver on that front with big shocking revelations that made you go, "Oh so that makes sense now" or add new context to previous elements. It was rather ordinary to be honest.

I didn't mind the retconning of Peter/Olivia but still did nothing to make me care for the adult versions or their relationship. It also really didn't shed new light--I thought there might be a shocking connection or backstory for the two to make me sit up and re-examine their present relationship but it really didn't.

This is the first time I actually cared for the Peter/Olivia connection--shows what you can do with the right actors--I can buy them here but not the adult counterparts. The childhood affair was sweet. The whole scene in the tulip field had a very "ET" sweet nostalgia to it like it could come straight out of an 80s film.

Loved the cinematography in this episode(the shot in the tulip fields was magical)--definitely gave the feel of being shot in the 80s and I loved all those old toylines young Peter was looking at--brought back fond memories of GI Joe, Ataris.

A real stand up and cheer moment when Walter stood up for Olivia against her stepfather--I admit I never really cared for that character thread--it seemed forgotten and didn't add much to anything really--but this was a nice moment and Noble did a great job.

But it was still a nice human story and Fringe rarely gives us those of type of stories.

Guess she never worked for Bishop Dynamic.

But, yeah, I am curious about where Nina is in the other world.

Excellent episode. I really have to watch the first two seasons one of these days...I really want to see the Peter episode.

Well-acted and a good human story. Absolutely love the 80s credit scene and vibe. The fact that John Noble hasn't won an Emmy is a crime.

So did Olivia cross over as she was running to Walter's office? And then came back while talking to Walternate?

I hope we get one 80's episode a season. Great to see the 80's credits again. I'm sure the observation lab was full of 80's goodness. I noticed the Mac.

Yes, I believe you're right.

However, that means that Walternate had met Olivia before as a frightened little girl, and he had no qualms about torturing her as an adult. That's a special level of cold!

Nice episode. Compelling drama that really puts Walter's Prime wife through the ringer having to keep lying to peter. The two children who played Olive and Peter were good, but I found it difficult to believe that actual children that age would react in the ways that they did.

All in all, not much happened in the grand scheme of things except that they - in Lost like style - have circled back around and answered
- Why did Walter's wife in the prime universe kill herself
- Why did Peter forget that he was from the alt. universe
- Why do Peter/Olivia seem to have this natural bond even though the romantic chemistry as adults isn't there
- How did the Alt. Walter figure out where his son went.

It the sense that it filled in a lot of gaps, it was a worthy episode. In the sense that it didn't progress the main story it fell a little short for me. I will say I was rooting for Walter when he stood up to Olivia's step dad......that was very cool.

All in all, an 8.2/10........not awesome, but very competently executed and some nice human touches to the story we don't always see with Fringe.

I thought it was a good episode. It was more of the human touch as other posters noted. The whole thing about young Olivia crossing over and then seeing the actual Walter did confuse me for a little bit.
