New name ..

Can I be blunt (he says as he's about to be blunt anyway)? Change it back, ASAP. Even better, go back in time and prevent your past self from making this terrible mistake in the first place.

Johnnyracefan
flows well, it describes your interests, has years of history and name recognition behind it here, and is easy to remember for new people. This is just... it's something. I'll leave it at that.

Plus, and I'm being obsessive here, but the lack of a space after the period in "T.Azell" makes my eye twitch something fierce.

I will never understand why long term members in good standing change their names.

Seriously. Only someone so fickle and difficult to please would change their username. :shifty:
Right. And then change it back to the original. :shifty:

Only a total noob would do that. :shifty:

Cool My new Name came through
I tried to log on with the old one and couldn't figure out why I couldn't log on?? (Too early in the Morning).

Hello, Gil Azell. I see you're ready to report for duty aboard my warship?

I expect you to keep your armor--and yourself--in top condition, for the glory of the Union, of course!

;)

The difference is that I'm quite happy with the name I have now, and have no interest in ever changing again.
Who WERE you?

I guess that's the problem I have with name changes for established posters. You don't have a face here, and usernames are really all you have to represent yourself. Sure, some people pull it off without much problem, but for most people (at least, IMO), once you change your name, you basically deleted most of your personal history and started over. I might see your new username and glance over it, not making any connections to your old name and backstory. Or might wonder "whatever happened to X", not knowing I'm actually talking to them.

Unless there's major lifestyle changes (like needing a female name instead of a male name level of change), not a fan of the username changes in general. Realistially, it doesn't MEAN anything, it's just what everyone else is using as a placeholder to identify the person they are talking to without having to get the backstory every time.

When you change it, you're basically starting from scratch. Unless you're an epic failure, in which case, that's going to follow you and you won't escape

PKTrekGirl was Vash.

Anyway, my view is, if you have a much better name, use it, but stick with the much better name. If it's only a little bit better and then you decide you liked your old name better, you're just wasting everyone's time.

A friend suggested it when I gave her a list of funny sounding names to use for one of my NA$CAR Pools, she said it suited me??

This is my third username since I originally signed up in '99. I'm happy with this one now, so I won't be changing it again.

Yeah, I'm good at that.

Well, you also got hit on a lot more with your other name (combined with avatar).
