Crysis 2 on PC vs Crysis 2 on PS3

How much better will the graphics be on the current top of line PC (12 GB RAM, dual 1GB Video card, i7 OCed to 3.2 Ghz) when compared to the PS3??

Is there going to be a huge difference in resolution and frame rate?

I don't think anybody will argue with your that the PC version of Crysis II will look a lot better then the console version, if you have a PC that can run it then that would be your best bet, personally my PC is not top range and these days i prefer the comfort of a joy pad, 42in HDTV and a big comfy chair to hunched over my monitor at the PC desk.

Visually the PC is always going to be the best option, but as long as the PS3 and 360 can offer the game visuals of Killzone 2, Uncharted 2 and Gears that will do me.

The PS3 version won't even run in native 1080p, will it? Just like every other PS3 game it's only 720p, right?

^^Not every game on the next gen consoles is 720p native either, a lot are sub 720p but upscaled, the COD and GTA games come to mind as sup 720p, but most console gamers wont notice this(Count me as one), as long as the game is fun and it works that's good enough for me....and it certainly did no harm to the COD or GTA franchises.

I am going with the Xbox 360 version myself. My computer not that great to run crysis 2 at high settings.

This is just an exercise in thought. I certainly don't have any rig close to what I posted originally.

On the subject of PS3 games, I have some games that display in 1080p. I have to go back and look up what they are though.

The biggest differences would be in the resolution and frame-rates the PC version would be capable of. Heavy physics loads would also be less likely to slow the game down.

12 GB RAM

Holy shit, are you editing video with ten thousand lines of resolution or something? :wtf:

We have 12GB on our current dev machines. It's amazing how fast you can eat it up...

This is another issue I wanted to bring up. I can understand eating up 12GB of RAM when you are doing intense graphics development. But will any games that are coming out this year seriously require that much RAM?

Not even close.
