Netflix or Hulu (or anything else)?

I hope we get full seasons. It would be a big let-down if there are only a few episodes from each trek show.

Why wouldn't it be full seasons?

The language isn't clear. It says "full seasons" of Frasier, Family Ties, and Cheers, and it says "episodes from" Hawaii Five-O and all generations of Star Trek.

There are a number of possibilities: "Best-Of" sets, partial seasons (unusual on netflix but it happens there), or a season or two from each trek show. Now, I'm hoping they mean every episode, but the announcement was not that clear.

It will more than likely be full seasons. Netflix likes to go whole hog on that one.

True. Based upon past experience, my guess is that it will either be one or two full seasons from each trek show or every episode from each trek show. I'm hoping for the latter, of course.

Amazon announces Amazon Instant Video service for Amazon Prime members. They're adding this service to Prime at no additional cost--Amazon Prime remains at $79/year, which is more than worth the price if you're someone who uses Amazon a lot (like me).

Doesn't look like they have much right now that you can't already get on Netflix, and I don't know if they'll have to wait a certain period of time before streaming new releases like Netflix has to, but this could be interesting.

The amazon instant video tv catalog seems particularly weak, but I imagine that it takes time to build up a netflix-like selection.

That's only movies though, right?

I had the Prime membership but gave it up after I got the B&N one.

Oh, TV shows too. Well, we shall see. The annual fee for Prime is still lesser than Netflix.

BTW, I also heard that XFinity is beginning to offer some stuff. I need to find out because my local comcast is now billed through XFinity.

Actually, Comcast is XFinity. They just decided to try a stupid new name.

^What's the Criterion Collection?

Anyways.. okay guys, I joined up for Netflix streaming one month free trial (I already have hulu -- thinking of canceling that if this works out). Let's see how it goes. So far, it's handling my shitty XFinity high speed cable well. There's been *some* buffering issues but not much. I haven't hooked up my LG Bluray to it yet so still watching on my laptop. Will report back if I have any outstanding issues. Thanks so much for all your suggestions and advice!

PS. Waiting for the Trek stuff to start streaming...
