Saw a few episodes of Becker last night from the internet. I haven't seen the show in over 10 years. I was amazed at how beautiful Terry Farrell looked just wearing normal street clothes with her hair down, out of those bulky clothes.

In one episode, Terry's nipples were peeking through her blouse. Never saw that on DS9. It was also strange to hear her do banal late 1990's sitcom banter, but it was great not to be called "old man" or having those freckles on her body.

The best looking woman on Becker however was Shawnee Smith. I haven't seen her in anything because I hate horror movies and she stars in the Saw series. She was also in the worst movie of all time, 'Breakfast of Champions". Ugh.

Becker was one of a plethora of sitcoms my grandmother followed so I knew about it vicariously through her. Both of us were surprised to see Terry Farrell pop up on there. She ended up leaving rather unceremoniously, if memory serves.

That show kind of surprised me in that it didn't last long. I'm not saying it was great or anything (not really a sitcom guy, anyway) but it seemed a little better than a lot of the other junk out there. Maybe. I guess not. I don't know.

I watched Becker when it first started purely because Dax was in it. I quite liked Jadzia as a character back then, and missed her when she left.

I hadn't discovered Cheers yet so Ted Danson wasn't really known to me yet, but even with him in it the show wasn't very exciting.

It lasted from 1998-2004, according to Wiki. That's pretty good, in sitcom land. I never cared much for it myself - it was just too banal. Not awful or anything, but nothing distinctive about it.

I'm also a l-i-t-t-l-e curious about Mr. Scott's comment about Dax's "bulky" clothes. You'd call that uniform "bulky"? Really?

AIUI, all the female actor's uniforms were padded in the breast area, perhaps this is what is being referred too. Woud prevent nips from showing.

I never realized it lasted that long. I guess it was just the fact that it didn't get a proper series finale (I looked it up; it doesn't seem like it did) that was what was I thinking.

Also, this is kind of interesting:

I remember the strike they had as it was 'big' news here, what with her being in DS9 before.

I'm sure I read an interview after Farrell had been let go. She said that she had asked the producers for assurances that they weren't getting shut of her because she led the strike, and they said it was purely creative/ratings. Originally Reggie (Farrell) and Becker had a will-they-won't-they thing, but they shipped in someone new for him.

Or at least that's what I gather. I have all this useless knowledge despite not really watching the show very often.

Heh, I know exactly what you mean. Since I spend so much time on the internet and a good bit of that time is devoted to following trends in television in hopes that what I once enjoyed about the whole thing will someday return, I'm something of a fount of knowledge for my friends. So many shows you'd have to pay me to watch, my friends come to me for.

You know, I rather liked Becker.

And the worst film of all time is After Last Season. The only plausible argument that it is not would define it as something other than a film.
