Fringe needs a 0.2 bounce minimum or its lights out. I just read that Marc Berman said "Despite the lackluster performance, Fringe is expected back next season"...However I disagree and Fringe is now on my "Likely to be Cancelled" list.

The downfall of Fringe began in September 2009 and is now reaching its final solution. :(

The rest of the night can GO TO HELL :p

The only way Fringe comes back for another season is if they drop the lame ass bullshit love shit (can you tell I hate it?) and get back to the fucking story!

Oh well, it's long dead now. They keep up the shit they have been the last two weeks i won't be missing it.

It needs to pull a rabbit out of its hat at this point. I'm thinking 1.7 minimum for next week. Maybe 1.6.

Either way, it's had a steady downfall since its surprisingly solid first two weeks. It's almost certainly dead now.

1.6 is the mark and were 0.2 below it...come on people stop fucking DVR the dam thing.

Yes, but understand this DVR has done nothing but major harm to the industry far more then pirating has ever done.

And the whole point of sampling is to get an honest representation of the audience. Meaning if the Nielsen family stops DVRing shows (or at least doesn't fast forward them), then the households they represent should be doing the same thing.

I mean for all the talk about people wanting a larger sampling group. Or to actually have each viewer represent themselves, most viewers would still skip through the damn commercials.

As with anything if your aren't willing to change your patterns why should you expect others to.

I am more the glass is half empty, but even I am surprised its down to a 1.4 already as I had that projected to be where the show would start back from the next break in originals. Its now doing only 53% of what it was doing last year (for the last two weeks). Thats a tremendous drop. Supernatural a show having to deal with the very same issues that Fringe has had (tough competition on Thursday at 9, having to deal with a move to Friday this year) is down 10% for the last two weeks versus last year. Hell even Smallville didn't drop this much when it had its move a year ago. How many more episodes before the next break? Because its after the break real drops should start occurring, and thats plain frightening. Hell even with Supernatural's better holds, I expect the show to dip to a .7 before the season is over.

I won't miss Fringe if it is canned--it has been a highly uneven series with the only real strength being its mythology--however that seems to have been damaged by recent episodes. The characters were never all that interesting and the fringe plots of the week were always warmed over.

FOX knows that the only people still watching it are its loyal viewers so they should have dispensed with the stupid standalone stories and the 'shipping--romance on sff has rarely worked and when it is enmeshed in a serialized mythology it is even more pointless to do since everyone is more invested in the plot not the will they or won't they i.e. Ezri/Bashir in the Final Chapter on DS9, Isaac/Simone/Peter on Season 1 of Heroes, Trip/T'Pol during the Xindi arc and S4 arcs, Starbuck/Apollo/Dee/Pyramid player dude on BSG, Jack/Kate/Sawyer/Juliet on LoST. The Olivia/Peter/Faulivia stuff is probably the worst of all those to boot--Anna Torv and Joshua Jackson have zero chemistry-Walter and his cow have more than those two.

^ I don't think so :(

The rumor mill begins and the strongest one is that WB want a 4th season of Fringe because it leaves the show in a nice state for DVD and syndication markets plus ending the story would help in this capacity. WB are prepared to cut the licensing fee enough to make FOX want to order a 4th season (though not a full one) because WB know they can make their money back later...

I take this all with a grain of salt but it does make sense, Fringe does seem to make WB a decent amount of money in other revenue such as DVD from what I hear. Also 15 episodes would get the show to 80 episodes so a standard 13 + 2 part finale to wrap up the show.

Does WB own any TV channels themselves?

Half of CW.

It would have been a great show to pair up with Supernatural on Fridays on WB (if it never got fucked over by CBS), but CW is such a shit and cheap ass network it will never do that.

Even though I'm from the UK, I know CW is like our CH5 total shit.
And would you believe this week they re-branded ch5 to make it even more shit.:techman:

Man, Fringe/Supernatural would be an ungodly amount of awesome packed into two hours. Plus then I wouldn't have to choose one over the other. :techman:

What fucking story??!! It's just some old fart absent-minded professor and his grumpy son blundering their way through X-Files while the Hot-Federal-Babe looks on and bitches!
