I don't know much about the D'Kyr, but I tend to shy away from science vessels in general (despite my char being a science officer).

I prefer cruisers.

Yeah, when I joined, I had a Tac officer and I flew cruisers.

Actually science ships really have the strongest shields. You can tell by the green bonus energy level on your energy distribution display and the numbers on your ship's stats...
Of course the additional hull strength of a cruiser equals that out in my opinion.
But a science ship with strong covariant or regenerative shields, a +x shieldpower console and a +x% shield capacity console plus shield enhancing deflector abilities plus skilling for optimal shield perfomance makes the energy bubble around your ship nearly impenetrable.
Personally I prefer a cruiser myself though as well, for the better offensive capabilities.
Soloing is best done as a cruiser.
Science is a perfect crowd controller and Escorts are excellent DPS support. Both are more of a chore soloing with though.

Edit: at RA level you can pick hyprid vessels which compliment your preferences and strengths better. Liek a cruiser with either better tactical or science abilities. A science with extra engineering abilities, and so on...

Patch notes are up:

Big patch, lotta stuff in there. Klingons got a new sector block!

I'm looking forward to trying out the remastered episode. I saw a preview of it, and it looked great. Hopefully, going forward, this will be the way they do the featured episodes.

We'll see; but given what I saw of the remastered Azura mission on the Tribble test server; they did say they would be giving the Remastered treatment to other missions down the road, including KDF missions.

My friends, we are home!

Still patching after 2+ hours!!!
I have been selecting Science vessels being a Sciences Captain. Can someone answer my question about the two vessels(Luna versus D'Kyr)?

Has anyone played the remastered episode "Stranded in Space" yet? if not, go and do it. It's got cutscenes now and more story options. You can only save the injured crewmen now if you are a science officer and as an engineer you can save the whole ship by transfering lifesupport to a containment field around the warp core.
So it would be best to go in as a team and have at least one science and one engineer with you (actual players).
Also you don't just beam over to the ship, you actually go to your transporter room now to do that!
Kind of irritating if you do that mission with a shuttle like I did with my bandnew Delta Flyer, but then it's not designed as a shuttle mission I guess. ;)

As I'm on topic. The Flyer is really cool. Don't let your shields drop and you have a biting wesp to annoy your enemys. :)
Also doing extensive strafing runs on big ass battleships looks awesome!
It's maneuvering capabilties are unrivaled in the game.
It's got one science and one universal console.
I figured it's probably best to use shield powers only.
In fact an engineer with Aegis shield or better , emergency power shields, and scienceteam might be the best way to go.It kept me in the fight, where a Tactical friend also in the Flyer kept getting exploded. ;)
I also dumped the torpedos and installed a second beam array although I might try dual cannons if they fit..

Hold on. I thought they were only doing the interior this time; or is that from Tribble?

That's what I thought and imagine my surprise when I warped into Eart orbit! :bolian::drool:
And they got an in-universe explanation for the change as well....
Wasn't the Klingons who blew the old one up, but...

No, not going to spoil it... go in and check it out yourself.
